An E 9 In A Old Pete?

I have had an E 9 500 in my 68 pete conv now for 15 years. The present was a new long block placed into service in 92. now have 1,400,000 troublefree and very enjoyable profitable miles on it.Two sets of head gaskets, one waterpump and one turbo! Oil samples taken every 50,000 miles keep coming back clean. Getting a little blowby now.Only can say I wish Mack still manufactured this engine.Has tons of HP and decent MPG(avg. 6). Add no oil between changes(15-20,000).Would like to replace it with same at next rebuild but I may have to opt for rebuilding the present because a new long block is now $50,000 plus!!!!Unless someone has an extra laying around they wish to part with. :SMOKIE-LFT:

Hi and welcome to BMT! I would like to see some pics of your truck! Sounds cool. As far as new long blocks...tough order! You may be better off doing an overhaul while those parts are available.
