valve setting procedures for E9 500

I have a v8 Mack motor, I rebuilt the motor, but it just don't feel the same. I want too make sure I set them right.

Not as complicated as it seems- you can make the tool easily with a mill.

Be sure that you have the fuel shut off off before you start barring the engine over.

just did mine, in place of the dynatard tool I was able to use a 1 1/4 wide gasket scraper to adjust and hold the barrel while setting the jam nut

Make sure when you set the valves, you rotate the motor over twice, had a guy sets valves once and he only rotated once and set the valves for two cylinders on one mark. Needless to say, it did not run too well, but it did run.

I just set mine this afternoon, I had a tick on the left and found two exhaust valves loose, it idles purty smooth now, I use a closed end wrench and a big flat head screwdriver for the exhaust, I just hold it in one side of the groove and it works you dont need a lot of torque.
