diesel consumption rate in gallons per mile or litres per km for 1999 mack ch

Please help.

I own two mack ch 1999/2000 models , i really need to know the diesel consumption rate in galons per Mile and Litres per Km. As i am looking to run a haulage job carrying sand and i need to come up with a budget for diesel.

if you are getting gallons per mile..quit.. sell the trucks.

There is no formula for what you are asking..what tonnage? flat land? down hill? up hill? Are these CH models dumps or tractors?

If i were bidding a job based on fuel I would bid at 3 miles per gallon plus your other expenses..if that doesnt get you profit then its probably not worth it. $5 a mile u can put a little in your pocket...around here.

$70+/hour, anything less is not worth it, just figure out what it will cost you to do, drivers? how much fuel(how far, what kind of truck etc) permits?, insurance, truck payments, you get the point.

If you already own the trucks and keep records for miles run plus the fuel receipts from other jobs, you can do the math and answer your own question.

Ill make it simple for ya. 5.0 to 6.5 depending on workload or hills and if you have a lot of stop and go. You can see 6.5 if you are constantly on the road.
