farmer52 Posted August 20, 2012 Share Posted August 20, 2012 I recently noticed an alternator whine in the speakers in my MH. This is the first time I listened to the radio this year. Last year I did not have this issue. Nothing changed from last year to this year. Could it be a bad cab ground? Everything else (gauges, lights, etc.) works okay. Any suggestions? Thanks! stev Posted August 20, 2012 Share Posted August 20, 2012 I have seen this before. Do you get it when you are listening to a tape/cd? If you don't, I would suggest checking the connections to the antenna. It might be anywhere form the back of the radio to the mounting point of the antenna. Leave it on while you foozle with it to see if the whine goes away when you move the wire around.I suggest having some electrical tape around to wrap up the spot you find, assuming it isn't a loose connection.Good luck. farmer52 Posted August 21, 2012 Author Share Posted August 21, 2012 The whine is present on both FM and SIRIUS. My SIRIUS receiver is connected thru the AUX jack. No whine last year. I will try a CD. BC Mack Posted August 21, 2012 Share Posted August 21, 2012 I've had this problem, years ago mind you, seem to remember an auto electrician putting a suppressor onto the alternator.
