Plumbing For Spring Brakes

Trenton

Recommended Posts

How difficult is it to convert a axle to spring brakes on a 1964 B model tandem axle road tractor? The truck does have glad handles for a trailer.

Thanks in advanced for the info.

Trenton,

I'll try and explain. A useful source is Bendix.com and they have diagrams to help you decide. Some of us with B-Models are useing the 24/24 cannisters because of clearance and mounting bracket issues. Make sure you measure and take your brake cans with you incase one of the Parts Men has questions.

I hope this helps!

The simplest is:

Air tank to park brake valve

to quick release valve

to outer can on spring brakes.

The Bendix place is by far THE place to go!

I've down loaded it and have it in a ring binder for quick referance!!

GOOD stuff!!!

Packer

Keep a clutchin'
