  1. thats pretty cool! how do you do it? hell, I barley figured out how to post pics Doug
  2. BARRY, YOU ARE THE MAN!!! thanks for taking over this project! I seriously doubt if any thing would have come of it if I were still trying to get it done it would be nice to have them look as original as possible, but cost wise, the cheaper the better as long as they look pretty close to the originls I will have to invest in a cap gun & ski mask to appropreate the funds for purchase though, as I dont have any thing left to borrow money on!!! Doug
  3. kind of over did it first day out, spent all day yesterday in bed, guess the drugs that were in me when I left the hospital made me think I was super man LOL found out its better to take it easy for a while! Doug
  4. hey all, I got home from the hospital yesterday from back surgery the doc says it was a complete sucsess, so I should be up and around pretty soon. tried to get as much work done on the trucks as I could before I went in as I wont be able to do much for a while! at least I can keep up with everything going on with the board Doug
  5. got the begainings of the next phase (bulldozers) I'll post them in my photo gallery, check it out! then there is the old blade, and the haul truck, I have a never ending supply of projects if I want to persue them LOL Doug
  6. I guess 22.5's will work the originals were 20" & 22", some will want them in 24.5 though. 22.5's will work better for me as I have plenty of take off tires, I usually replace them while they still have a little tread to use for spares! I have 24.5's on my KW,but severe lack of road worthy tiresLOL! oh well I have a set of diffs with higher gears I can put in the KW ( 3:70's) it has 4:33's now) any way I have my fingers crossed! Thanks, Doug
  7. a few years back if I would have had to make a choice, I probably would have went with the drag car, but now I would definitly choose the big trucks!! ( even though they cost more than my hot rods ever did) Doug
  8. Thanks Barry, these should give them the general Idea!!
  9. Hi Barry! I forwarded the email from Alcoa to the address yoy sent me. did you recieve it? what do you think? any ideas on how to go about making this happen? I think most of us would want the ball and seat type wheel, but there are some that have swapped rear cut offs with air ride that might want hub piloted type. maybe we could get a list of members that would want to purchase them to get an idea on placing an order? Thanks, Doug
  10. Alot of people use Gulfway, but they dont provide coverage in all statrs, I live in NM and they wont cover my KW. How ever I had gotten a quote from them for registering the truck in my dads name in Arizona , then got a quote from my ins carrier for comm ins on my exesting policy, it was cheaper than Gulfway! Doug
  11. Barry, I just got a reply from Alcoa, they might be interested in doing the 5 hand hole wheels. I want to forward the email I got from them to you, but not sure how to go about doing it , any ideas? guess I should have PM'd you Doug
  12. Thanks, maybe the reason it was swapped out for the cummins was because of the lack of parts availability and cost I am going up there today to look for some steer axel brakes for truxnut, so I will look for the engine info then Thanks Doug
  13. now I like that much better that the Granite. thats a beautiful truck!! If I were to buy another new one I would think about this very seriously! Doug
  14. up at my family's saw mill there is an engine that was pulled out of an R 700 L, and replaced with a BCIII 400 cummins. I was wondering what it is and if it would be worth rebuilding for high performance. it is a V8 with turbo, where should I look to find size and model #? thanks, Doug
  15. nice trucks, but I still like the old ones better Doug
