  1. Damn that's loud.

There was a big time steel hauler from Somerset, PA that was running a single axle Crackerbox into the late 90's or possibly the 00's. I saw it on ebay a few times and last I saw him he was in an older, but very clean, IH 9670.

    Was it green?

    ---------------

I really need to read ALL the posts before I post a re-dumb-dent comment.

ANYWAY, that green crackerbox sure caught a lot of eyes in PA. I only spotted it once, and he made quite an impression. Rainy night, he rolled off I79 South onto 208, empty. If it weren't for the lights of the Outlet Mall I wouldn't have had such a good memory.

  2. I was just looking at a website that had the specs- I wasn't expecting a hotrod, but the 91 model V6 was rated at 125hp. It's only a 239 c.i. engine. They upped the hp to 180 for the '92 and '93 model.

    I owned a 1993 w150 5 speed with the V6... it was a turd.... but I didn't mind it.

I swapped a 318 into it.... super easy. What a truck then. Better power and mpgs.... loved that truck

    (Why'd I sell it????)

  3. For a quick fix I have used a sealer before. It's in the stove area at menards. It comes in a black tube like silicone and you have to spray water on your items you seal and is good for high temps.

Has else anyone tried the high temp furnace rope and cement with success? I'm thinking it would still need a clamp of some form to hold rope + silicon in place.

I am concerned about tearing anything apart for fear of ruining something and/or creating a leak somewhere else. I spoke with Francis, and he said $1200 for complete exhaust parts.... but in the post right behind this one a guy said after he had his worked on it STILL leaked!

I tried a cement for exhaust leak repair already.. it blew out 5 miles down the road.

  4. I am sorry to have to disagree with you Kscarbel, religion has no part in politics or business, religion is personal and how they want to live there life based on there beliefs. So before I am labeled a left wing liberal which I am not, I did go to catholic schools for my education and so have my two daughters and that was of there choosing. My religious views are my own and government has no right being in religion and vise versa. I also think that President Obama has been a horrible president not based on race but he has no policy and is indecisive and leads based on polls plain and simple. If you vote you have the right to complain and if you don't participate in the system then don't complain if you don't like the results and I am not saying that to infer that no one here doesn't but more in what I tell my daughters.,,,,,Just my feelings

Did you mean to direct this to someone else? ?? Kscarbel didn't mention religion, did you mean Job41?

  5. Recent years? The race card and division started with the presidential campaign in 2008 and has been ramped up at every opportunity by the Devider in Chief. .

I watched an episode of the Dukes of Hazzard last week... first time I've seen it in 20 years or more. Would you believe that Bo and Luke had black buddies... seriously there were black comrades of "the Dukes". Had a fast car and pissed off Boss Hogg.

Race relations were the best they've ever been in the 80's.

They HAVE taken a serious fall since Obama took over. I agree.

  6. It does sound like you are speaking of the Mack bogie's self-steering design capability (which results in reduced tire wear).

Having said that, and assuming that you have rubber trunnion bushings, they could be in bad shape simply because they're 36 years old. Rubber deteriorates over time.......low mileage doesn't matter.

    .

Wow, that's cool. Never knew this. You have some bangin' Mack literature... I love reading it.

  7. NOT TRUE.

In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a vehicle tagged, titled and insured as an ANTIQUE and is not acting in Commerce is not required to stop at scales, even if it weighs in excess of 26,001 pounds.

In the "real world" its true. Blow past an open scale with antique plates, farm plates, or something else with a load of your own toys, crops, or sail boat fuel and I GUARANTEE you'll be chased, harassed, and possibly found out of compliance.

Unfortunately the law in PA is that passenger cars towing large trailers are required to stop at weigh stations. The weight limit for having to get weighed in PA is 10000 pounds (5 tons).

Cops aren't going to see an antique plate until your pulled over. Isn't that what he's trying to avoid?
