  1. I was coming home from Valpraiso IN. yesterday and I pulled in for fuel at the Heyworth exit along I-55 and I saw these old girls parked kind of as a display in front. These may have been posted on here before, but I enjoyed looking at them. The 190 International was a 6X6. My little Jay-pan truck I was driving started pulling to the west when I went around Bloomington, like it wanted to head to Farmington and see Robb, but I was running late and could not stop. Momma had something waiting for me at home....... Further south on 55 there was a strange long metal tube lookin' device on the east side of the highway, just behind the railroad tracks. It looked like it was in the process of being built. It was really long. Does anyone know what it is for?
  2. What! No pics?
  3. You may not be very good at choosing matching clothes, but I think you are right on this one.....
  4. The closer you get to the RL the rougher it is - worth the price though
  5. The local DOT man pulled me over one time because he had some supervisor in the cab with him. We walked around the truck and he just told me to stay off the road for a few days as they were doing a big slam of the area. One of my mudflaps was ripped in half from backing into a hole. He pulled his pant leg way up to his knee and said - look, that is the right length of flap, see it is close to the hem of my pants.
  6. I just learned something else new - thanks for the info! I also like the work "hack". That kind of says it all.
  7. too late - I copyrighted it - but you can use if for a free 30 day trial period, be-ins youse is good folks
  8. Nope - it happens all the time - I was not born stupid, I just have had lots of practice My dad always said he was solar powered - if it is below freezing and no sun - he stayed close to the fire
  9. Great group of photos - is that company still around and what do they run now?
  10. Finally - someone around here admits they are a nut. I once thought I was a nut, but then the men in the white suits said there was "nutin" wrong wit me Welcome!
  11. Great looking puppy chow eater - You will be buying a larger collar soon!
  12. If that guy with the trackhoe drops that truck it will be all ready to ship out in pieces
  13. I always thought I wanted to get off the dirty scraper and set on the push dozer. So they let me one day - longest day of my life. All I did was push those damn things forward in the cut then back up and push the next one, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. At least on the scraper you saw a little different scenery as you made your round.
  14. He does not have to have a DOT number as he runs with logger plates and he and I own the truck. It also helps that the local DOT guy drinks coffee some mornings at the local LD club at the general store. The initials LD can mean a lot of things. I will let you guess what it stands for with these old guys.
  15. I just emailed him and he responded to that question that he was real close to just burning them. I am going to let him cool down for a few days until I see him in person!
  16. I read this ebay listing and I don't know if I should laugh or cry - http://www.ebay.com/itm/150751825682?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 This guy is a good friend of mine. I think I need to go see him and make sure he has not flipped out or something
  17. Ha! That sounds like me - all thumbs, but you have more years to improve!
  18. Dave - I think if you were to sleep above your rolloff trucks every other night or so, and you waited around in the bay with them waiting for a phone call, I bet you would apply the shine to them as well while you waited! I think it is the elbow grease that does it - it really is a credit to firefighters that they take such good care of their equipment.
  19. Hmmm - The word "tool". I think that is too good for him right now. We get along fine, at least when he needs to borrow something. When it comes time to pay it back, he doesnt come around so often - whaz up wit dat?
  20. That thing looks real! I am amazed at the patience that must take. I would rather chop cedar sprouts on a rocky hillside with a dull axe than try and sit down long enough to do that - you have a real talent!
  21. I hope your mother taught you to stay inside out of the cold!
  22. You are right - bad news for truckers - look up the panama canal widening on the net - it was interesting what is going on with worldwide shipping. They had to do it, too many new ships being built that just won't fit.
  23. Ha! That is funny - I "gained" a new brother in law recently that moved into a house on our farm with my sis. He is a very anal individual - first thing he did was go around and straighten, organize, clean, polish, fix, repair, and just completely work over the pile of stuff in the corner of the shed on that place. I waited until he was all done, then I went in and threw it all away - it was trash.
  24. My Uncle won a new 740 Ford (I think that is the right number) in the 1950's by winning a contest - I will try and get some of the photos that they have of when the Ford dealer delivered it - make a good new post. He still has the tractor and it has very few hours on it. I used to drive it for him pushing a Jayhawk hay stacker.
  25. He cleans the brushes, then he wraps them in saran wrap so they don't go bad. And he does spend a little more and at least buy the brushes that the bristles stay in place while you are using them.
