  1. Figure everyone could use a laugh, here's one from RandyP's neck of the woods.

A new priest, born and raised in Texas, comes to Louisville, Ky to serve and is nervous about hearing confessions, so he asks the older priest to sit in on his sessions.

The new priest hears a couple of confessions, and then the old priest asks him to step out of the confessional for a few suggestions.

The old priest suggests, "Cross your arms over your chest, and rub your chin with one hand and try saying things like 'yes, I see,' and 'yes, go on,' and 'I understand.'

The new priest crosses his arms, rubs his chin with one hand and repeats all the suggested remarks to the old priest. The old priest says, "Now, don't you think that's a little better than slapping your knee and saying, "No shit... what happened next?"

  2. You see where Colt is threatening to leave the northeast due to the whole microstamping issue being pushed by the state they are currently in?

As I understood it the raid on Gibson's guitar factory was based on the fact that they had supposedly imported unfinished lumber from India and had then worked the wood into guitar parts. This was supposed to be in violation of some trade agreement that required the wood be finished in it's country origin (that's an oversimplified explanation). I've also heard that the burden rests upon the subsequent buyer to later prove that the lumber was not finished domestically, so for example, you wouldn't be able to sell the guitar later on without proving that it was not made of parts that were subject to the trade agreement, else you would be subject to penalties the same as Gibson is facing. Now imagine they go into Remington and do the same thing, cuz guess what, that gun stock is made of wood too! Imagine you want to sell or trade a gun but can't because it may or may not have materials subject to these rules.

It's a war on personal freedom. It's not going to come all at once, it'll be done incrementally, a little here and a little there and pretty soon you're raising your hand to ask permission to shit.

That's my two cents. With the economy being the way it is that two cents probably isn't worth to much but that's all I've got.

  3. The tricks have already started.Read the article on Gibson Guitars.

I was going to bring that up, pretty crooked deal all around. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I think that may have something to do with plans for gun control.

  4. It shouldn't matter that he completed the program or not. He could "relapse" at anytime. I would imagine that reinstating him to a driving position knowing that he had a drinking problem would jack up the carriers insurance rates. If he had an accident while driving for the company while under the influence that's even worse for them. It sounds like they made a shrewd business decision.

The fact that he came forward of his own accord, that OD has acted in the same manner before, and that he is suing for " monetary relief in the form of reinstatement to a driving position, back pay and compensatory and punitive damages, compensation for lost benefits for two drivers, and an injunction against future discrimination." makes me wonder if it isn't just an attempt to milk the legal system.

  5. From a serviceability standpoint I think the GU813 is better than the GU713, it just seems easier to get to a lot of things, but it's far and away harder to work on than any of the "legacy" trucks in my opinion. The 2010 emissions engines we have around here have been running pretty good for the most part without any major engine failure type trouble so far. If you decide to buy the GU keep this one rule in mind:

EVEN THOUGH IT'S A PAIN IN THE ASS ON AN MP ENGINE, WHEN YOU TAKE SOMETHING APART PUT ALL THE BOLTS BACK IN THE DAMN THING!

Probably close to 85% of the work I've done in the last month is directly related to someone working on an MP engine and not reinstalling all of the hardware that was removed.

  6. Congratulations should go to David who figgered that out back when the server problems first started, he was on top of it!
