Tell them to reference SB 471-001 New Cast Axle Housing Replacements (Feb. 6, 2007)
-
The cast housings can be differentiated by looking at the bolts that lock the spindle in the housing. The older style have an external hex head bolt behind the brake spider flange (towards the center of the truck). The newer style have an Allen head lock bolt on the opposite side of the housing (toward the outside of the truck). The newer cast housings use a spindle that is supplied by Renault. They are sometimes in short supply domestically, but they are commonly available, our shop replaced one about a week ago. Replacing the spindle is going to take some special equipment, or you can pull the housing and have a machine shop with a lay down press push the spindle in and out for you.

Don't know where you are, but here is a link to the Mack Trucks website and their dealer locator, you just need to plug on your information.

Or Stripe. Could be Spot the Wonder Dog's sidekick.

The fitting should thread into the fan clutch. The thread is 1/8" npt. It sounds like maybe it was a push to connect style fitting that came apart.

And she's wondering what to name it.

A job well done.

It needed a fuse for the transmission installed (somehow the fuse for the ZF Freedom transmission went missing between the time the customer pulled into his shop and the time he tried to pull it out), and it needed the cobbled together Euro PTO wiring setup (courtesy of Muncie Power Products) fixed. I think mostly it didn't want to go out and play in the mud anymore!

Purty slick looking unit.

The cast or ductile iron housings have replaceable spindles, the fabricated housings do not.

Welcome back, was wondering what had become of you.

Nature of the beast.

Sorry to hear such news. My condolences to his family and friends.

If it is a VMAC I or II (electronically controlled inline pump) it's probably being caused by an immediate lack of oil pressure to the econovance.

Instrument cluster needs to be reprogrammed by a dealership.

Some thermostat numbers that might help.

This might help, I've tried scanning it half a dozen times and this was all I could get. I think the valve you have may be from a V8.

See if you can turn the engine over using a wrench on front crank hub bolt (the big bolt in the center), turn clockwise.
