  2. END-475 is a Mack and an END-465 is a Scania, IIRC. Correction to the above, END 475 is the Scania, and END 465 is the Mack.
  3. like Jim says, it is an early one. I would say 1967-68. The oil filter on top of the fender is a 'WGB', called an Oil Clarifier. They were standard on Mack engines from about 1963 until the ESI system was released around 1972, at a guess.
  4. My favourite is mid 60's through to mid 70's. Then into the 80's.. Mack B, F, R, Cruise-Liner, Super-Liner then Ultra-Liner is covered.

  8. Greg, I've often wondered this myself. Is an R-600 with a steel front the same width as a DM-800 across the fenders? A track measurement isn't accurate enough because of the different axle widths and tyre sizes.
  9. In late 1971 early 1972 the FR-700R's became available with a fibreglass cab. These cabs were made by Reinforced Plastics in Melbourne.
  10. The Ultra-Liner was available in Australia from the begining of 1985. It was built on an R model chassis and was designated MHR. From 1985 till mid 1991 there was about 250 Ultra-Liner's produced in Australia. Around the end of 1992 or begining of 1993 the Ultra-Liner 11 was released. These trucks had a raised cab and a setback front axle. The Ultra-Liner 11 appear to have been mostly E7-454 powered. IDSTBC on this. I'm not sure on production numbers or when production ceased on these Mk11's.
  11. If it's a 'Maxitorque' box, they often rattle or chatter when in neutral.

  13. Nice old Peterbilt, I wish it was mine. The cabs don't rust like the F series Mack cabs do. Although that F cab looks like an extremely good specimen.
  14. If it is an R-600 factory fitted with square tanks, to fit the round Mack tanks you might need to raise the cab. Or lower the tanks.
  15. The second 'M' in 'DMM' designates a setback front axle arrangement. In 'RM' and 'FM' it is the setback front axle. But not in 'DM', because a 'DM', is a 'DM'. It needs a second 'M' to designate the setback front axle arrangement. You can have an 'RM' that is only a 6x4 or a 4x2 e.g. RM-685RS or an RM-685RT As Jim has pointed out, It is the fourth number that designates all wheel drive e.g. RM-6856RS would be a 6x6, RM-6854RT would be a 4x4.
  16. Yes, they built quiet a few 6x6. The Australian Defence Force had Mack Trucks Australia build them about 940 RM-6866RS trucks starting in about 1983. These trucks were Six Wheelers, the four rear wheels were dual wheels.

  18. This might seem petty to some here, but the Twin Turboed END864 is not an ENDT864, it is an END864T. Later engines were ENDT's, but not the 864.
  19. 237 a boat anchor! Doubt it, they are a great engine. I'd call an 864 a boat anchor before a 237, but I would like to have an 864 in my collection.
  20. In Australia, we had the ETAZ673 released in the later half of 1975, I beleive it was released in the US before this time. However it was a 673, not a 676, but it was an ETA engine, it was a 320hp.

  22. The last B means a variation/update/modification, on the prevous engine. It is often a horsepower variation. IDSTBC. I don't think it has a reference to the ESI. ESI plus was three filters and a deep sump pan, ESI was two filters and a standard pan
