  1. So was the Jake update performed incorrectly or not to factory specs? Glad you got it working!
  2. Asking around, the guys asked if the speedometer is working correctly (speed sensor bad),maybe a faulty oil pressure switch to the computer (cycling the key would reset it and allow the engine to fire up)and a bad ABS module may account for the EML not working properly. A head scratcher for sure, good luck!
  3. Just chatting with the shop foreman and he mentioned an update done to the Jake system in that era that provided the Jake with additional oil to prevent low oil PSI shut-downs and high RPM Jake malfuntions. Are there oil lines (braided steel)feeding through the Jake spacers?
  4. Talking with the techs this morning at break, they said to check to make sure the dimmer switch isn't stuck or broken and to check the headlight relay.
  5. I have two good, inspected take-off cylinder heads. Give me a ring, we'll work out the details. 603-239-7008 Thanks, Phil I didin't read far enough to where you found some. Disregard. Have a good day.
  6. We often find that wires often break where the wiring harness flexes at the hood hinge area. You could peel back the loom and inspect them. They (the wires for the hood) also like to short to the frame in various places along the way.
  7. The E-6 had two oil pans, a deep (say, fourteen inches deep) and a shallow ( say, nine inches deep). It is possible you have a shallow pan stick in a deep pan. Let me know what you have and I'll send you the correct stick free of charge. phil@globlatrucktraders.com
  8. I'm going to assume you haven't tried this so bear with me if you have. Take the door pad and panel off and have a buddy work the handle and lock while you observe everything going on. The rod and clip arrangement on CH doors is strangely delicate and consists of little plastic clips and threaded rods that wear out and break. Here in the North East we are continually replacing the handles (chrome plated, around $50)because of salt/ rust. Because the passengers door seems to get used less often, it is more prone to freezing up with corrosion. The handles are very easy to replace. I hope this helped, Phil
  9. I wish Mack would come out with a "retro" H model like Chevrolet and Dodge have done with the Camaro and Challenger. Cabover trucks are the coolest, an H model is my screen saver on my work computer. Stops a lot of customers in their tracks as they walk by.mack.bmp I was just laughing thinking about jacking the cab up and seeing an E-Tec sitting there.
  10. Thank you and you're welcome. That just made my day!
  11. You're very welcome and any information we can help you with is just a click away. -Phil
  12. Does the engine have a Dynatard engine brake? The valve covers are different if yes. Either way,If you want them, I'd be happy to send you a pair of valve covers to help you out with your project. e-mail me at phil@globaltrucktraders.com
  13. The line you have labled number five should go to a limiting valve on the intake manifold. I hope this helps, Phil
  14. Hello, We just took in a 1977 MB-600 pumper truck (town unknown but the phone number was apparently 911 hahaha) VIN MB685FC1148. We will be cutting this truck for parts or entertaining offers for the purchase of the whole truck. It needs a windshield (left) and says it has a new clutch. There are a lot of parts on this rig, ladders, hoses, lights, etc. Give us a call! 603-239-7008
  15. The controller is for a fire truck ladder somewhere in Mass. I'll pass on the links to them, thanks for your help. I just checked out the site you mentioned and that's the truck we have, minus many, many parts. Nice looking rig back in the day.
  16. Hi, Some auto parts jobbers have paint shade scanners that can match paint to an existing color. Bring in a sample and they can usually get it very close. The NAPA I worked at for many years could also custom pack spray cans in your color, making it very easy. -Phil
  17. The front says "Falmouth" and the doors say "Tamworth" so I'd say this one has been around. We bought another fire-truck this weekend. As soon as it comes in I will post some information and pictures if I can figure out how to configure my camera to do so. A customer called this morning looking for a joystick controller for a ladder basket. Any ideas? Thanks Phil
  18. Hi, We have a '75 CF with a 100' ladder for sale or parts. The cab is good with so-so doors and lots of good condition lights and lenses. We are located in southern N.H. Thanks, Phil phil@globaltrucktraders.com 603-239-7008
