  2. I Had a similar case w/ a title on "olddog"

dont know bout the state of IL But here in TN on my dads b422t i had to get a replacement title in 97' AFTER BOUT 20 YEARS of his passing of involving an acicident of a diesel tank exoplosion on 76' a Chevy 1 ton service truck in 1977 .

to get it the State of TN Wanted me to get my mother TO SIGN AN AVIDAVID (which gave me to my grandparents to raise after dads death &does not have anything to do with me to this very day ) i told the state i havent seen her since i was 10 & my pop's (granddad) used "olddog" every day in the family excavating business in which they told me to get him to sign it then i went to Main DMV IN Memphis & got the tiltle

my granddad used the truck all through my childhood & up in my early 20's till 98 When DOT Made us go to a tandem tractor (1year after i got the title finally!!)

just my lil case w/ a title & talk to ya later

  3. i could drive a duplex , quadbox & triplex before i could a airshift (@15yrs old) 1st airshift tranny i drove was a 7spd mack @ age 26

it took me a couple of days when we got a DM W/ the 2070 (7spd) to learn 3rd gear (1st high gear) was back over where 1st gear postion was ...lol

but once i got the hang of it it was riding a bike

ive seen guys (& a few women too ) try speed shift a 6,7, & 8 spd Maxitorque tranny like a Roadranger & grind gears so hard I HAD TO SHOW THEM TO BASICALLY GLIDE THE STICK TO THE NEXT GEAR ........ A bunch of the guys that got out of say a KW Dump into a :mack1: dump moan & complain that they cant "speed shift" the Mack like a roadranger

I Myself get out of a Mack & into a truck w/ a Roadranger i have to remember to shift a ittle quicker than the Maxitorque ;)

I My self perfer the OLE 2Stick trd & td series &trl trx series &2000 series over the Roadrangers but will drive a roadranger

but ya know what they say bout opinons ;)

    just my 2 cents yall

  8. I think that the VOLVO Group will get rid of the all true MACK truck. Just see how now our beloved MACK truck is becoming a "Generic Truck" like the other truck brands. Soon the days of an all MACK built truck will be gone.

Did you read the last issue of BullDog Magazine ?

I was shocked when I read about MACK trucks offered with other non MACK drive train components. A MACK teamed up with Eaton, Fuller, Rockwell, Allison , Meritor etc... ?

I am getting confused and now I am in the point of beleiving that the new MP7 engine family is in real statement VOLVO engines disguised as a MACK product.

It is so paifull to see our MACK getting VOLVORIZED little by little to the day the MACK brand will no longer exist.

They can say that MACK merges with VOLVO for the good of both companies. But at what cost ?

Good bye to the all true MACK Diesel Engines.

    Good bye to MAXITORQUE transmissions

Good bye to Camell Back suspension

    Good bye reliable MACK R /RD /DM /DMM /DMMX / CS /Mid Liner /CL 700 Elite.

I hope this VOLVO-MACK thing ends up like the Daimler Chrysler group erger and MACK kicks out Volvo for the good of the brand.

MACK TRUCKS has the capabilities of surviving on its own.

    VOLVO TRUCKS SUCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IN 4 Words : AMEN PREACH ON BROTHER !!!!!!!

  9. I Miss the sound of the 238 (671) & 5&2 tranny w/ bellyblower exhaust echoing against an interstate over pass in the Singleaxle 74' 9500 GMC Tractor my dad & granddad bought a year before i came along loaded w/ wheat, soybeans or the dozer or trackhoe or 1066i.h. or 1370 Case both w/ duals used to pull dirt pans & sheepsfoot rollers on the lowboytrailer

Also the sound of a Thermodyne 673 or 711 diesel in a B Model or early R Model every day like i used to everyday . (this why i have frieghttrain's video saved in my favorites in you tube ;) ) & another reason to pull strart olddog everyonce in a while to hear the 711 run ;)

Also sound of the 318 (8V71) W/ 9513 TRANNY Behind it going through the gears in my 81 GMC Brigadier w/ duals pulling loaded lowboy & dumptrailers

    a 427 Chevy truck motor w/ a load going through a 5&2 tranny (esp the 79 C-70 S/A Tractor my granddad had ) man what a sound ;)

the sound of my 85 Chevy C-20 3/4 TON P/U W/471T Detroit W/ 6" STRIGHTPIPES & auto tranny a buddy of mine & myself had built in his dads shop when were 16yrs old i had that truck till i was 26 someone offered $8,000.00 for the truck & i sold i wish i had it back now :(

miss the sound of a strightpiped IH. 66 SERIES Farm tractor (esp a blackstripe) in a hard pull too

The sound of my late great uncles 64' DC Autocar dump w/ 220 Cummins & 5&4 TRANNY going through the gears

  10. My pops (granddad) had a friend who was a used truck & truck parts dealer in Memphis he bought the Old UPS Tractors & @ the time he had to cut the cabs into & strictly sold them for parts (this was back in the 80's & 90's)

he bought a 350 4V Mack Maxidyne motor w/ 32,000 miles on it out a brand new (@ the time) 88' UPS R Model THAT HAD BEEN WRECKED & put in as a replacement in a 84 DM Dump we had @ the time that the original 237 had took a dump .

this 350 4v motor pops paid $1,000.00 for it (in delivered Crushed limestone by us for his buddys truck lot ;) 1 of those ill scratch your back if you scratch mine deals ;))

wish i could find another deal like pops did ;)

  11. ya the 621B & 721B Liebherr's we had used D5B Cat Style undercarriage . & ya thats why i like Liebherr's was the joystick steering & blade/bucket controls (only footpedel was for the 4in1 bucket on the 621B)

love to go to paris landing to fish & to the Catfish festifval in Apirl (i think thats whats it called & about when it is correct me if im wrong)

As far as the Superdog i wouldnt mind having it but winter anit far behind i may wait till late winter or early spring before buying a :mack1: just curious what would be the asking price ?

    thanks & later yall B)

  12. best i can remember it was some where round $20k

i see your from West Tn too im in Millington what partya from ? round Memphis or Jackson ?

my family was in the excavating business untill my granddad passed 2 years ago this was a 40plus year family business liquidated because of no will & probate court ordered everything sold

I See the Liebherr dozer in the background we had a 621B Loader & a 721B Dozer untill L.B. Smith bought out Davidson equipment in Memphis back round the late 90's & phased the Liebherr part of the dealership out here by 2000 or 2001 & had to buy parts from Carlisle equipment out of Louisville, Ky after that

We hated to leave Liebherr alone after a period of 10plus years esp w/ good luck we had w/ them but we couldnt get the parts locally so we back to dealing w/ Thompson Cat , Power equipment (Komatsu & Dresser) & Barton Equipment (now Nortrax ) (deere )

now that Deere has thier 655 & 755 built by Liebherr i wouldnt mind owning 1 ;)

& ive been looking for a :MackLogo: w/ camelback suspension & wetkit to pull a dumptrailer & possibly a walking floor trailer ;)

Im sure that ole R Butterfly hood :mack1: w/ E9 in him will do just fine pulling that kinda weight i anit into much shiny chrome on a truck myself cause looks anit everything

All that shiny chrome does is makes it look Pretty when its sitting on the roadside ;)
