  3. Nice Videos Ben that ole IH Transtar4200 CornBinder of yours is getting popular on Youtube .

The 6V92 Sounds good & Nice restoration . & like those FREE Watts Mack Mud flaps . :thumb:

There is a farmer about 25 miles North of me is a friend of a buddy of mine who has a Transtar 4300 IH W/318 Detroit & 6" chrome turnouts I LOVE HEARING HIS IH Cornbinder pull out of the bottoms loaded w/ soybeans, wheat & corn

The Memphis Police Dept tried to write him a ticket for & I Quote: "Noise Poullution" A couple of years ago during harvest season while going to the elevator in North Memphis W/ a load of Soybeans .

the TN State Trooper (who is also the Diesel bears here now for the about the last 10 yrs) showed up & told the Memphis PD "You cant write him a ticket for "Noise Pollution" or straight pipes " they asked "why not?" the Full grown bear told him that 1 word on the truck that made him exempt from most everyone else : it had my acquaintances last name then the Magic Word FARM under his name & then the town he was from on the side of the door the MEMPHIS PD Let him go & the diesel bear told him have a safe ride LOL .

Gotta love that MAGIC Word FARM When it comes to a truck & bears sometimes :loldude:

  4. I like "F-Model Macks" and "Cabover Enthusiasts" among others. I also started my own group called "FWD Fire Apparatus and Trucks." We have a little over 200 members- the list is long and distinguished like my johns........never mind Also many antique firetruck pages on there too. Tons of fine people that go out of their ways to help one another find that elusive part or vendor.

Yes facebook can and is a pain in the ass and I know why many folk of the older generation have a particular disliking and contempt for it. However there are also many fine groups and people that you meet on FB that make it a worthwhile experience.

Yup & Those of yall here on BMT Who are on FB Knew i was still alive cause I accessed my FB From my cell phone when I didn't have much of a internet access for awhile & was MIA Here on BMT . ;)

Plus Yardo bust my chops like a Army drill SGT on FB if he finds out I anit in the gym 6 days a week W/O A good reason ... :loldude:

  5. We had a 77' DM685S Tandem dump w/ 237 & 2 stick 6spd w/ 5:73 ratio gears double frame 16' bed 18k f/a & 44k r/a .

I Wish I had a dollar for every load of sand , mulch, road gravel , oversize wash gravel , crushed limestone, rip rap, brush from clearing jobs & demolition from jobs we done & of course what was our bread & butter West Tn Red Clay Dirt. I'd be rich .

Here in W. Tn we are allowed 20 tons on a tandem dump & 25 tons on a tri axle I can guarantee that Red Dog carried 30 tons of dirt out of dirt pits & through out The Millington area more times than 1 .

Top speed on that truck was somewhere around 58mph to 60 mph but didn't hesitate to pull the loads out of the pits & always pulled hard through soft ground loaded .

Most of my grandfathers friends ran brand X Trucks & when they got stuck on a job they were doing together it was always Red Dog that pulled them out if a dozer or excavator wasn't available. You may have out ran Red Dog on the road but in the field that ole Bulldog was Hard to beat & out pulled & pulled out a lot of brand X Trucks in the 2O Plus years my grandfather owned that truck .

Matter fact I made $500 extra on a load when a buddy of my pops bet me when I was 21 yrs old that I couldn't get 20 tons of 57 Rock (code here for oversize limestone like on a railroad ) in a muddy field On a Clearing job my pop & his buddy was doing @ the time .

I told my pops buddy the only stipulation was he have his D6D LGP Winch Cat ready to pull me out after I was empty & have the money ready !! I had my had out before he put the cable to the truck . My granddad that raised me & his foreman laughing their ass off cause I got that load in where his KW COULDNT GO !!

    I love a 237 w/ a 2 stick 6 spd tranny w/ 5 reverse gears . ;)
