You can. I could get you a serial number off our 94’ RD and have a GOOD parts person check that they will swap over. Ones off a CH should also. By the time you buy new hubs, races, bearings, studs, wheel seals, drums and rims, I bet you would have about $2000 in it.

We bought it with. 525k miles on the clock and the motor apart in a crate. Had a set of new drive tires on it. Wrapped up about $20K in the motor but it’s complete. If it runs 5 years we will chalk it up as a win. The purple 9200 we had we gave $6500 for it, ran it 2 years didn’t do anything but maintenance to it and sold it for $5700. That one was a M11. That was a win also.

I have always been a big Louisville fan. We have two of them as mixers. Handy as a pocket on a shirt. Against my brothers best wishes, if I find a nice spec’d L9000 daycab, I’m going to own it. Personally it would have to be a series 60 Detroit, on Hendrickson 4 bag and about 190-200 wheelbase. Would be a sweet gravel truck.

My dad has told us about those Allis powered F’s for a long time. Early 70’s Allis Chalmers has Allis powered F’s and Dad went to work for the leasing company that had the Allis account right as the switched to cab over Pete’s.

If you know what you have as far as motor, trans, rears and in our case the drum, I think it makes total sense. In our case we bought the truck on auction not knowing anything about. Paid a very reasonable price as in the retail on the truck would be double what we paid. When we picked it up we found the service records and it had a new motor. So a new mixer is $180k and up and we will have about $30k in it when get it on the road. Makes sense to us.

We have a quote to rerail a mixer and it was $9500. I think it’s reasonable, if you know your truck and know what new cost.

Every guy I have ever ran into that drove a B, has made those same comments. When we were kids, Dad ran an F model. I remember that being quite cold also when we rode with him.

Hate to be this guy, but if that was an axel forward on air ride, I would be heading north for it.

When I started driving in 2000 my Dad put me on with Geske hauling sand at first then they told Me bring a frame trailer the next day so I could haul hot mix. Ran with that truck a fair amount and it was a good runner. I had an 84’ 300/ 6 speed and ran right with him all day.

Hour and a half one way, every day. Anywhere from 220-250 miles a day depending on how much running around I have to do.

My Dad bought some B models from Manatts back in the late 90’s. We got a tour of the place in Brooklyn IA, very impressive operation to say the least. At least it impressed teenager me!
