  1. Great U-boat pictures, thank you!

I still have not any documental facts about how many NR's were supplied to Russia.

And see no chances fo find it out in Russian sources.

The facts I have are that my NR (the only one Russian known in existance) left the factory on January 19. 1945 (Mack museum) and there were both single and double rear wheeled NR's of service in Russia, all with open cabs.

Interesting that the chassis as it came to me had the rear hubs for single 20' wheels but with a late serial number.

It was probably assembling mistake, 2 NR's were supplied in 5 packs. Or maybe it was assembled from some rest components and parts around the end of the war in Europe.

  2. no Vlad, they were both on "emotifake.com" or something, I had nothing to do with either of them, just the one with Vinny. I don't know if the girl and the truck picture is even altered at all, she might just be posing in front of the truck. The other one was so badly photoshopped it reminded me of me.

She posed with the truck of cource but everything else looks very real.

  3. The main reason of invention of open cabs was saving of a shipping space. Because all the trucks vent overseas under Lend-lease.

If we speak about the way that Mack used about military orders there were N-series models those were all clear military.

Plus to it Mack interrupted commercial trucks production from 1942 until 1944.

As about other manufacturers many of them also produced open cabs and all wheel drive. For example great numbered GMC's.

Or Studebacker US-6 that was 6x6 tactical vehicle.

There was military Mack EH (as above) for sale in Australia some weeks ago.

  4. Kerosene is not good about cetane index although it works.

Gesoline is extremely bad for diesel because of it's detonation character.

As i read in a book there are different kinds of kero and the aviation kerosene (must read jet fuel) is not allowed for diesel engines.

There is an arctik kind of diesel fuel in Russia (not avail. in the region I live) that is up to -60 Celsias. People say it's clear kerosene.

As about here there are winter and commen fuels for sale. When temp. comes below water freezing (0 C) the winter one must be at stations. So we could have troubles tanking one day and driven some days later when colder time comes. Plus to it nobody might shure about how a fuel is good. So we usually apply some additives. And the most working one is "Hi gear" made in USA (?) There are also different kinds of electric fuel filter heaters those helpful. My car has a heater combined into cooling system so I usually have no issues. Added some antigell just once this winter.

  5. My country's regulations require amber both sides because it's a color for all front and rear turn lights.

When I asked on Watt's a guy told me there are original double amber R-model lights (round) for Australian market.

Although I haven't ended up with that guy but ordered turn lights from Watt's online shop. So they are amber with red now. Will tell heart-breaking story to road police in the future or just try to order 2 spare amber lenses.
