  1. if the over board breather isnt puffing like a freight train..  I would just do the bottom end and an oil pump.  Then freshen up the cooling system..  new coolant, thermostat, fan clutch if its viscous, even the water pump..  Terry and FJH,  nailed it..    I would easily choose PAI parts for this repair..  I'm building an E-Tech now, with PAI parts..  The oil pump actually came with a new pick-up tube.. jojo

  2. Is it a coincidence that our homeland security chief is looking away, when it comes to our southern border...  He is Cuban born...  who are the real racist's??  not me...  jojo

  3. Abortion used as "Birth control" is atrocious!!!. Saving the mother's life is a different story..  How the hell did these WACKO'S  get so much 'Street Cred'????   The internet puts info out there instantly,  and the 'sheep' suck it up as 'creed' without thinking about it for a bit before saying.  'Hell yeah, I'll make a sign and protest'...  Because my feelings got hurt.....  You racist white man..... anyway,, getting pissed again...  Like I said, i'm not well educated... but I believe I can see through a lot of the B.S.  ..  jojo

  4. I had another thought...  check the bell housing flange for wear that could causes the bell housing bolts to loosen, and therefore cause the tranny to move, and crack the flywheel housing.. I had an '01 RD that had loose bell housing bolts, and I would remove them and put lock tight on them, put'em back in, and next service they were loose again..  I knew it was the bell housing, but because it was a T-2070 tranny, and I handled all maintenance intervals, I just kept tightening them whenever I saw the truck, until it was time for a clutch, then I Sent it to "Overdrive rebuilders" to get the case replaced..  and a re-build..  jojo

  5. Amen brother... My last go around at Mack, showed me the BS...  I would use the dealer portal at home while I was doing my ProPath training, to print off as many manuals as I could afford paper and toner for..  I have (4) 3 ring binders full.  about 1 whole reem of paper...  just sayin'.. however, i do as much as I can to stay away from 2007 and newer trucks, in my service business..  so far, i'm ok..    jojo

  6. I beleive there is a campaign on this issue.. I replaced a few of them because the 'clutch' if you will, wont grab..  If I remember right, the whole frame around the steering column is replaced as a unit, cable included..    there afre a few ways to post pics,  I would just e-mail the pic to myself then drag and drop it into my post..  my suggestion is to reduce the size of the file to Kb's, so that you dont use all of your data quota in a hurry...  i made that mistake, and now I cant post pictures any more..   Jojo

  7. I read the original post again.  I was curious about the evap core freezing up if it is not draining good. A faulty pressure switch is highly possible. On some earlier Mack/Volvo's, I have gotten stumped by a bad compressor, because I wasnt familiar with the internal clutch type compressor. I replaced a control panel because I thought all issues pointed towards it, I was wrong.  I guess I would do a pressure switch..  good chance its a simple issue, since you said the system has never been opened up..  keep in touch,, jojo

  8. To check for air in the fuel on an MP, there is 2 ways. Commonly, you hook a long clear line with a banjo fitting on one end that fits correctly to the banjo bolt on the fuel return, located at the front of the head behind the lifting eye. Then you run it back into the filler neck of the tank and submerge it into the fuel, run the engine and look for bubbles/suds..  and there it is....  another setup has you hook to the fuel filter pad, on the left side of the engine, unfortunately, I forgot which port you hook too.  once again, a clear hose with the correct banjo fitting on one end.  jojo

  9. my guess is the liners with the orings near the top of the liner. Mack did away with them when the E-Tech came out.   I dont remember them in the first E-Tech's, but maybe.. I know I built a few E-7's that had them and the new liner kits did not... Of course I have only built about 30 of these engine's,  so I really haven't seen it all yet..   jojo

  10. Paul.... I wish that a few of my customers, werent so concerned about lookin good..  I have charged more money for labor for LED's and Chrome than I should have..  I tell them... Let me fix it to D.O.T. compliance..  (Our Law dog's) here in the state's.. I have one guy that paid me $1500.00 to put light's, stack's ,and Chrome on his W900L.. But it needed that money put towards the F'd up lighting harness's and a fan clutch, and gaskets, and so on...  Am I on the same page with you sir?   jojo
