  1. I just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year.
  2. Welcome aboard. Good looking H!
  3. As far as Mack pushing into Europe, I often wondered about that myself. Who knows, there might not have been an IVECO Truck company gobbling up some of the smaller companies. Maybe MACK would have had them on the ropes?
  4. Hello Frenchy Mack, welcome aboard. I drove Mack Midliners. You probably know them as Renault G. Five speeds and a splitter (relay) is just my speed!!!!!
  5. As for me, I would match the drivetrain with margin and durability in mind. If the engine has 1000 lbs torque, I would want a transmission that has 1200 lbs+ rating. I personaly am more agressive with the truck sort of the way I drove 21/2 &5 ton military trucks. Not abusive mind you, but I don't baby them either.Thats my 2 cents.
  6. Good info. It's good to collect historical information.
  7. Good luck on the projects. As you know the wood work while laborious, just takes a while. As for the metal, you probably know this but you might have to have certain parts made. These trucks are much more simple and straight foward than todays trucks.Do you plan on showing these trucks at the Dorsett Steam Fair in the future?
  8. Your not kidding. Its been in the singls digits already.
  9. Welcome aboard. I was stationed in Ft.Wainwright,'79-80. I was with 47thEngrs.
  10. Isn't it easier with now that the road work is done! What are you driving?
  11. How common or uncommon were the TRL1076/1078 with spicer 1241C, a 5 by 4 20 speeder? I have a R series operators handbook from the good people at the Mack museum and it lists this transmission as an option.

  13. I want to say a hello to the members of this website. I like this site alot. My experience with Mack trucks is rather humble. I drove Mack Midliners for a few years, both the 5 & 10 speeds. I thought they were a lot better than the other trucks I drove. I have more questions than answers and I have an interest in trucks with Mack at the top of the list.
