i am from little town called blakeslee. its only a half mile long. we call it half mile of smile!! we are only 5 miles from indiana and 12 miles from michigan. pretty much up in the corner. not much in town but our construction company and a great place to eat - Sam's Place.
Didn't Buck Owens have a hit song about Sam's Place? All sorts of chicanery going on there when the sun goes down. Seems like maybe AJT is the one we need to keep OUR eyes on, not the other way around!
Anyway, welcome to the site, the more the merrier!!!

Thanks for the info guys. I figgered there were some sort of controller on the market. Just now starting to put the pieces together on my F-model and would like to be ready for anything!

I have studied this photo and I have discovered what I think to be the origin of everyone's distaste. Note the single air cleaner can. Asthetics would be greatly improved by installing dual Vortox trash cans. Can't be a large car without trash cans.

I just had the same X-member replaced on my vision in October. Was keeping an eye on that hairline crack all summer. I was going to weld it myself til I pulled off the 5th wheel and saw the front side was cracked almost over the top to meet the rear. Glad I sent it over to Allentown Mack for the job; they put new huckbolts in just like from the factory, as well as the upgraded gussets. I ended up with a new 5th wheel too, as I discovered cracks in the slider plate once removed. Frameless dumpin' puts a lot of stress on these pieces, I suppose.

Nice handiwork there, RowdyRebel. I plan to add a receiver to my cabover and this gives me some ideas.
To expand on the subject a bit, can anyone offer some ideas on towing a trailer with electric brakes using an air brake tow vehicle? What type of brake control is needed for this?

Still there Larry. I just looked again and am just as astonished.
Rob
I'm with Larry on this one. Rob, it dun been deeleeted, you must be seein things. Maybe it's those hallucinogenic hot dogs. I sure would like to know what all the fuss is about. Only thing that happens when I squint real hard is somethin usually squeaks out the other end.

Heavy trucks will soon be able to match the 65-mph speed limit of smaller vehicles on limited-access interstates after Gov. Ted Strickland last night signed a $9.2 billion, two-year transportation budget into law.
Looks like my old Bulldog will have to learn a new trick! 65 in SLOHIO??? Niether one of us is gonna know how to act!
-
I mostly signed up to learn, but hopefully I can help out here and there as well. I am still learning the site, so I appoligize in advance if I do or ask anything stupid.
See everyone !around
Welcome to the site, Robert. Everyone has something to offer as well as much to learn. Just remember there are no stupid questions, only the one that was never asked. However I am not saying you won't get a stupid answer once in a while...

It don't make no sense in this day and age. Trucks are not selling due to the economy and now there is another reason to keep what you got. I don't blame the manufacturers, though. Government regulation got us where we are today, folks. Now we pay a premium price for an inferior, unreliable product.

Welcome to the site, Pete! We are all able to help one another here. Nobody is an expert at everything but we all have something to contribute. Thanks for letting us know up front about your Polish heritage. I'll try to type real slow for you...

That reminds me of a story-completely true by the way. I picked up a load of structural steel at Montague-Betts in Lynchburg one time going to Boston. I threw my chains across the load and climbed up on top to make sure they were placed right, and saw a dead possum laying on a beam, already swelled up. I stopped up at the Tye River Truckstop and backed up to the edge of the parking lot and found a long stick. Then I climbed back on the trailer to get the possum off. However he fell down through a hole in the beam and landed on the beam below. So I proceeded to deliver him to Boston with the steel. That job was just a dropyard, we'd drop a load there and just get an empty trailer and go, but I wish I could have seen the iron workers reaction when they found that possum. A true possum story.
You sure he was dead? Those possums play pretty good. Maybe he didn't have bus fare for the trip to Boston.

What Rob is trying to point out is, we have alot of dogs on this site. Stay focused and watch your 6 o'clock. I'm thinking about changing my name to Mightydog have not seen that one yet. And we like road-kill any way you want to fix it. Anyway welcome, have fun and stay alert. And also be a little crazy helps too.
mike
Mightydog... Doesn't he fly like Underdog? Used to see him on all those dog food commercials.

Here's a nice load of hay I saw in New Mexico.
I just hope he isn't planning on turning in for fuel.

Good looking truck seems to have been well maintained over the years. I'll bet that NH220 & straght pipe sing a sweet(albeit loud) song up through the hills!

Read your other post regarding turbos. Mack can't (or won't) get me the bigger, better Schwitzer like originally came on my 427. The current replacement B/W is smaller with about 5 psi lower boost. I got warranty on the B/W and thank God I kept my Schwitzer didn't turn it in for core.

Ahhh I know, it is bad here to. Didn't have much of anything in the deep freeze and was getting a bit hungry so went out to the shop and the good lord delivereth to me a healthy "critter" to fry up.
I hate to go hungry.
Rob
Poor critter just worked himself to death trying to keep the lights on for you. The least you could do is bury the little guy.

First Wednesday of the month special; Calico Stew.
Rob
I would have picked this up for you but it was Monday and I lack adequate refrigeration to keep it all week. It would have been stinky before you even laid your fingers on it.

Do you have a ETEC engine? or a Vmac?
All the CX's would be E-TECH engines
-
The only advice I can offer on this subject is a negatory on the Borg-Warner. This is the one the E-TECHs have so much trouble with. I ran one for 144,000 miles till it came apart. Put my old reliable Schwitzer back on still going 800,000+ miles. Trouble is Mack won't sell you a Schwitzer anymore. All Borg-Warner now.
-
Did you change just the nozzle? Or the electronic unit? If the ECU has been changed, then you need to have the dealer flash the engine computer to "learn" the new injector.

Greetings, Michael! Lots of stories to be shared here, that's for sure. If you can believe them all or not is still up for debate. A perfect example is that guy right above me. Other Dog has been trying to convince us that there is actually some benefit to driving a Peterbilt. The only advantage I can see is that you can get a suntan on both arms! GET IT? Small cab? Both arms? HAHAHA LOL sometimes I crack me up!

Check out my reply on the other thread "crank case pressure" for a possible cause.
There must be a way to post a reply on 2 different threads, but I don't know how. I know more about trucks than I do about computers, but I am learning.

You pretty much hit it on the head mackdaddy. You and I think a lot alike when it comes to choosing freight. As far as the tolls go, you just gotta figure it into your expenses and make sure the load covers. Tonight I made a stop at the house for a few hours before I shove off to Long Island, NY. Dump & reload then back home on Friday. Most of the guys I work with don't go near NYC, but for the right money I'm goin'.
