There are several ways that can help improve your mileage. From simple maintenance like changing the air filter and checking for boost leaks to adding aftermarket products like the fass fuel system and Airdog, you can get a slight improvement in mpg. Try to use the search function for other mods.

What he said. Try to fix it first. Much cheaper than buying a new one. -
Prep is also important. I would sand it and apply a good high temp primer.
