  1. pictures and price are always helpful for those of us that don't have a bottomless wallet

Rob....that would be a great addition to your fleet...huh?? colors are right.........rustydog

  2. That's right...you know there is a B-61 wiring diagram on this site in the wiki...very helpful...

Les,....dont know if you'll see this today, but, yes I have blown up copies of two diagrams that I used to rewire and make whole new "harness". Problem is that I don't really know electric theory, so some things I just dont understand. I wired it the way you said, and ammeter and fuel gage dont work. Had a friend helping me and we installed a master cutoff switch, which shorted out when the connector on one cable hit the body of switch. (this was last week) lights work, heater works. Is it possible the two electric gages were burnt out by that short?? I fired her up today and polarized the volt reg/generator. how /where do I test it to see if its puttin out?? thanks, Rusty

  3. Negative comes from voltage regualtor and goes to light switch, postive goes to terminal black on firewall and eventually back to battery cable...you are measureing everything coming and going to the battery

OK, POS SIDE OF GAGE GOES TO RELAY/BATTERY. NEG SIDE OF GAGE ONE WIRE TO VOLT REG TERM-BAT. AND OTHER ONE ON THERE TO LIGHT SW. RIGHT??

  4. I got all my door stuff from that Jim Carter Chevrolet (old Chevy trucks), I tried the other people that is posted and I had no luck in dealing with them. On the items that he said he did have it was really expensive and when I was asking him questions seemed like I was bothering him.

Just spent a few minutes going through my records and found the receipt with part numbers, as you can see they are reasonably priced. >>Click on the PDF file to open<<

BTW I did not use the 3m adhesive on that truck, used it for something else and used the stuff from Oreilly's when I did the assembly

Thanks for that.. I will follow up with them...got the feel for glass install today..went pretty well...except no "bubble-juice" finish her up tomorrow and move on to next item!

  5. yup, had little screws, if you use the wrong one that the head is too big it will chip the glass, trust me lol. I guess you could probably rivet them on. and the chrome beaded stuff doesn't seem to last like it use to, few years of mine outside and its all rusty, gonna use the generic black stuff next time

I figured there was some kinda clip that locked into door frame, as there are like 4 rectangular little cutouts in there.....guess Im a little slow.....took me awhile to realize that some small screws would work as well!!

  6. This is the glue I used, I got it at Oreillys about $7 a tube, I bought a couple tubes used it for some other stuff on the truck, and to install the rubber gasket around both doors.

I bought my window channel and door gasket from Jim Carter Chevrolet, I took my remnants over there and were able to match them up, I bought a sun visor pad (about 1" size difference), the window channel, squeegee, weather strip and some small odds and ends. Back in the day there were only a few manufactures of that kind of stuff so most of it is very similar or the same. About half the cost elsewhere, if you need something let me know and I check for you if they need to see something it to match up.

Rob...I haven't gotten my door rubber weatherstripping yet or for the side cowl....any lines on these items?? thx...rusty

  7. My B-61 had new Stewart Warner guages when I got it, but the fuel and temp guauges had to be changed when I switched from positive to negative ground. I got the replacements from Summit Racing. I also had to change the sending units which came from Summit. I don't recall the price but it was reasonable. Watts has a mechanical temp guauge which they claim is more trouble free than the electrical. I don't have much time on the new gauge but no problems so far.

Guess I'm doing it at the right time, as have switched over to neg grnd as well.......I have looked at summitt site......seem reasonable

  8. Ok, heres question...I switched from air start to electric. In re-piping air from comp. is the small (2 foot long) air tank enough capacity by itself, or did the large air tank play a role somewhere in there as far as brakes go?? Can I run it with just the small tank? diagrams helpful thanks
