  1. Yeah, I was taken by the title too. Thought that her and the office girls thought fondly of my exploits and I was up for a little deserved reward. Upon expressing my gratitude for such generosity, I was informed that R-N-R stood for "RE-NUTT-ROB"! Now I don't know about any of you guys but anytime the word nut, and Rob, are mentioned in the same sentence, I have instant fright with paralyizing fear set in.

    Think I'll hide.

    Rob

ROB, IF I WERE YOU I WOULD HIDE UNDER THE DROPCLOTH WHILE SHE'S PAINTING; OF COURSE YOU'LL BE PANTING!! AND TRY TO CATCH ALL THE DRIPS.

  2. Soda will not touch rust. It is perfect for paint removal and will not etch glass. Soda can cost a little more than plastic media as the media itself cannot be reused.

If you are doing a complete frame go with sand after stripping bare of all mountings, spring hangers and such. If you blast leaf springs, take them apart as the sand will chew them up over time with usage.

Ask your blaster to use green, or brown "foundry sand". It is much easier on the surface and does not "etch" near as badly as most others.

  3. This was my third or fourth time. This year they did it backwards, you usually started at the back at the loading docks, and followed the bare frames all the way to the end, and ending up at the gift shop.

The year of Mack's 100th, they really pulled out the stops- they had a festival for employees families AND people from the show. They had catered food, all kinds of activities for the kids, and of course, all kinds of Mack Trucks.

I do have to say that this year I was very dissapointed in the Gift Shop Staff.....I know that they were overwhelmed, but it just seemed like they didnt know what they were doing- they had to enter numbers into the computers manually, and the lines didn't move at all. I finally gave up after 15 minutes and put my stuff back on the shelf because I wanted to get back to the park.

THAD, THAT TITAN WAS SOOOO GREAT!!!! WISH THEY WOULD ADD A TEST DRIVE TRACK TO THE SHOW; THAT WOULD REALLY BE SOME ICING!!

OH YEH, I'M THE DOG ALL THE WAY TO LEFT IN THE PICTURE.....AKA "LARRY"..

  4. I'd had enough of wandering around in the rain by 10:00 AM.

Should have stayed for the BMT picture, though.

Nice show, especially Friday! And a lot of late arrivals on Saturday morning.

    Thanks for the pictures Morgan.

  5. You were right-former sheriff, now judge the honorable Buford T. Justice said, "I always said 'you can think about it-but don't do it!'. And there is no evidence that this plan ever got past the 'thinkin' 'bout it' stage. Case dismissed".

Now undoubtedly the gang leader who earlier fled the country will return and claim he was just taking a vacation, and deny any knowledge of the plan.

BRINGS TO MIND TWO OF MY FAVORITE "BUFORD" QUOTES......"I'M GOIN TO ROAST YOUR ASS IN MOLASSES".....and....."THE FIRST THING I'M GOIN TO DO WHEN WE GET HOME, IS PUNCH YOUR MOMMA IN THE MOUTH"

  6. I'd have to think long and hard before I would need a beer that bad.

Certainly hope it isn't someone we know.

    Rob

HE JUST DID'NT READ THE SIGN ON THE TRUCK........"MEN FILL YOUR STEIN ON THE LEFT, WOMEN ON THE RIGHT"

    THAT MAKES IT SEEM BETTER????

  7. BOARD SAYS ITS BARRY'S SPECIAL DAY.................BEST WISHES FOR A HAPPY AND HEALTHY ONE!! AND MANY THANKS FOR KEEPING THE SHOW RUNNING!!

JUST WISH I COULD COME BACK AND JOIN THE RANKS OF THE 38 CLUB!!!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARRY.

  8. you'd probably have to get another cab with an integral sleeper, remove the bunk, relocate the seat, steering column, all the pedals to the back of the sleeper compartment, or she wouldn't fit. Lots of work.

WOW!!! JUST LOOK AT THE NUMBER OF REPLIES TO THIS THREAD........MAYBE WE SHOULD CHANGE THE FORMAT TO " LUBES & BOOBS". WOULD SURELY BENEFIT THE ADVERTISERS.

BY THE WAY HERB,...MORE THAN A MOUTHFULL, IS WASTEFUL. COL....(choke out loud) !!!

    BUT I'M NOT COMPLAINING

  9. Ok I should have known a site like this existed but none the less I was pleasantly surprised. Problem is it contains adult material so I will not directly link to it. Just google "stacks and cracks" :D . Full of Petes and KW's, we need to get a bull dog on there! A B model or Superliner would be perfect.

    Maybe Rob can model lol!

The internet never ceases to amaze me. Barry, I hope this isn't inappropriate.

ITS TOTALLY APPROPRIATE!!!!!.........BARRY, I HAVE A VERY HECTIC SCHEDULE, BUT IF YOU ARRANGE TRANSPORTATION, I WILL DONATE MY TIME AND TRUCK FOR THIS NOBLE CAUSE!!

QUESTION IS, THAD, HOW DID YOU FIND THIS....WHAT WERE YOU LOOKING FOR???

  10. Hello Everyone.

I noticed just today that I have not introduced myself and I will make up for that right now.

I live all the way down here in New Zealand in a little but growing town Masterton located in the Wairarapa region.

I have had a passion for trucks for as far back as my memory allows me to go.

When I moved in with my Dad at the age of 10 I told my Dad about my interest in trucks and he took me to a friend of his and showed me a selection of model trucks. Well Folks a new interest was born and a hobby that has lasted over 31 years was launched.

I now have over 60 model trucks and MACK is in the collection and I have been working on 2 Cruiseliners and 1 Ultraliner and yes after they are completed there is another Ultraliner to be built.

I have a passion towards the Bulldog as I was able to go to Motor Trucks here in NZ in the mid 80's and able to see MACK's being built.

This I enjoyed, and being allowed to sit in a corner and watch trucks being put together and being allowed to ask questions which have helped me build models of these fine trucks.

Thanks now to the Internet I have come across many wonderful people who share my interest in trucks and I hope I meet many more wonderful people on this website.

I have put up a photo of the latest MACK I have finished. I have changed the engine from the standard straight 6 that came with the kit and I have installed a V8.

    Cheers

    John

    Does nobody like me????????

    Rob

JUST MOMMA........AND THE REST OF US!!!!!

P.S. WOKE UP THIS MORNING COUGHING FROM THE SMOKE POURING OUT OF YOUR SHOP, GUESS IT MADE ITS WAY EAST!!!!

    RUSTY

  12. I don't think Momma has been on any "Most Wanted" list, (except mine) and she never wanders far from home; I don't know but I think you've mistaken her for someone else.

    Rob

Yogurt, grapes, and a banana????? I thought this was a BIG MACK TRUCKS site; seems more like a morning exer-show commercial!!! (it IS 40% snot, by the way)

As for the picture..........Beauty is in the eye of the .................AAAAAGGGGGHHHH...forget it!!

  13. It is only worth what the current owner is willing to take for it, or the perspective purchaser is willing to pay.

$3000.00 sounds a little high to you and I, but someone else may not think so.

Of course there is always the analogy: "A fool and his money soon part ways".

    Rob

    AAAAAAABBBBBBBBSSSSSOOOOOOLLLLLUUUUTTTTELY

  14. Hi Rustydog, as a matter of fact I know where one is for sale a mile from where I work. I put it in the ''trucks for sale'' for the owner a while back, if you scroll down far enough you'll see ''C-model''.And there's a picture of it in my gallery on page 2 of misc. photos, with snow on it. Truck Body Corporation in Lynchburg used this truck for a yard truck for years, and the present owner bought it to restore himself, but I think he ran into some health issues and decided to sell it.

I don't have another picture of it on my PC, I thought I did, but here's A C-model I took at a truck show in N.C.

That C model for sale is on page 3 in the for sale column. I posted it last August, and no one has replied yet. I'm gonna try to move a picture here...

Thanks for the effort Tom, per the orig. post he was asking $3000 for it. That seems kinds high, dontcha think??? I'm going to call anyway and find out. (Though I'd much rather have the red one in your pics!!!)

    Thanks!

  15. see also http://www.truckpaper.com/ , they had quite a few, and http://oldmacks.com/trucks.htm , they always have B-models for sale.

    And don't forget http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/trucks.htm

for pictures-there's thousands of truck pictures here.

Hi Tom. I had never looked at this Hanks site before.......now I've got a question.......saw 2 C model Macks on there, a C607 & C609. I don't seem to find anyone on the BMT site that has one. Can you help?? I think I'll never be happy until I find myself one of these!!!

    thanks, Rusty

  16. I seen a moron running a Cat 988B one day coming down in the coal pit who had the bucket all the way up ( so he could see where he was going so he said ) stand it all the way up where the bucket stuck in the ground, lucky it didn,t go all the way over, he ended up laying against the front glass with a bloodied nose, we used a big track hoe to get it back down so it wouldn,t tear anything else up, he wanted me to push it back with the D-9 i was on before he got catch, i wouldn,t even touch the thing, The guy in the video wasn,t doing a lot but if he would of turned the ass one way or the other it would of been lights out

Very hard to understand how some of these guys just don't realize the risks, personally I think the equipment is more important than they are if they think its just for fun. As was stated, probably very few cases when the owner would do such a thing.
