maybe its just me but I have noticed that cars that are either charcoal, gray, silver or golden bronze in color are most likely to drive with out the lights on ! they are also the same color to match the road surface or the horizon during poor weather
No it's not just you gearhead, l've been noticing it for some time. When the wife and l are out and see a car coming without lights on we bet as to what color it is. NH tried to pass the "Wipers on Lights on" law last year but it failed as not being needed. Hippy

Drove it around 150 miles to Flat Top, WV, down I-64 most of the way. We cut over to US 19 at Beckley mostly to avoid tolls.
We bought our MB in Bluefield VA just down 77 from Flat Top.

"Incompetence mitigation devices" are becoming increasingly common on large trucks, as well.
Most of the "Incompetent devices" l know of sit directly behind the steering wheel! Hippy

i can understand the use of dual wipers on an open cab truck for when it rains hard. what is the sense of having wipers on the outside of the window if you can not see out of it because the inside is covered in water?
Would someone explain what the hell was the idea of an open cab on a fire truck anyways. Thanks in advance, Hippy

Coastal Truck and Auto Body 3610 Lafayette Rd (Rt 1) Portsmouth, NH has one. Looks like the one on CL that 66dc75 posted. I know nothing about it other than just driving by. They use it for yard moves at times or it's out in line for sale. Hippy

What is a drivers swag?
I asked Paul and this was his answer. Hippy
A swag is bed roll a bit of foam some sheets and blankets and all full covered in water proof canvas and goes straight on the ground
most times nice and warm and you can use the outside canvas cover as tarp to stay out of the rain when your stopped for a while
Another term for a swag was Matilda hence the poem or song Waltzing Matilda

Hendricksons
in Other Truck Makes
Posted
l remember seeing Hendricksons in Chicago back around '78-'80. I delivered candy from Boston (Schrafft's, Doran's, Nabisco) for Polar Transport of Hanover Ma. I also have the C/J doubles from Matchbox, whats left of them. l let my son play with them way back when. Hippy
