  1. Jack, They have the signs up for it on 202/9 in Hillsboro. My son and l are planning on going Sunday. Hope to see you there. Hippy
  2. Looks like they had to enlarge the doors of the house. bulldogboy, ls that the Amherst St station just up from Main St?
  3. Another good looking cab over there with the GMC Astro.
  4. Junk. Solo clutches are intended for long haul OTR companies who has zero maintenance control when the steering wheel holder can't figure out that they have no free play. At the dealer I work at, we finally got it thru our sales dept to spec only easy pedal clutches. And we only put Solo's back in if warranty or customers request. They never work right and 9 times out of 10, easy pedals, when driven correctly, get double the mileage (similar vocation) as a junk solo clutch.
  5. Congratulations Firebuster on finding your truck!! And nice job grayhair for seeing it on Oldmacks.com Hippy
  6. Thanks for the tid bits of information. Having a real hard time sourcing pistons for the old girl. My local Mack guy is going to call Barry at Watts tomorrow, but does anyone know where I could get pistons for this, OEM or aftermarket? 4.875 bore with the 1.875 wrist pin. I found plenty of 2 inch wrist pin pistons available. I found PAI has the right config, but its a lower compression ratio piston I'm assuming for a turbocharged engine. 15:1 vs my 16.1:1. Any thoughts on that as well? Thanks!
  7. Hi all. Got our little MB torn apart with a confirmed cyl 4 blown head gasket. Sourced all the needed gaskets to do the job, but as the picture shows, I have more issues then just a head gasket. Once I source the pistons, (all are well cracked up) going to need the torque specs for the rod caps, I'd like to drop and check a main bearing while I have the pan off, so main bearing cap torque and I have a head torque procedure from 1973, but with the newer superceded gaskets, has the torque procedure been updated? Hoping someone can get help me out! Thanks!!
  8. END673E 180hp, TRD722 DupleA, 4.62 rears. Armstrong steering. Fun truck to drive!!
  9. http://nh.craigslist.org/hvo/5650773609.html Absolutely NO connection! Hippy
  10. l dropped the trailer across town Thursday at a friends shop. He was nice enough to swing 12 ton of wood pellets from the delivery truck to the pup. Saturday morning l went down to bring it home. l didn't break any speed limits with the MB but sure as hell was leading the parade that was following me. Even took the extra long way around to avoid climbing a hill before getting home. lt was a slow ride but we got it done. Hippy
  11. other dog Maybe we can help with the stupid birds!
  12. Looking at the ones with the tracks on them. I'm thinking that you would want to keep your elbows in by your side. Might hurt more getting hit by the track than shifting in a concave cab B model. Great pictures and Thank you 41chevy for starting this one. Hippy
  13. And it looks like she has no plans on letting you return the truck to the previous owner......
  14. Jim, l don't know about Ovnt and CFWYs. But l do know the ICC would never let Red Ball and Navajo merge. The logo would have been a blue eyed Indian with red balls!
  15. I had a '77 R600 with a 36" bunk on it. Always thought an R700 with a 60" Peterbilt flat top sleeper would have been sweet.
  16. Went and got this ole Corn Flake pup this morning with my son. He has a Ford L7000 ex CF tractor that he'll have ready in the fall to pull the pup. 53 mph downhill with a tail wind, but without fault it came home.
  17. To all our Veterans for your service. Thank you and God Bless.
  18. I'm thinking l still have one of those Messenger 250's somewhere. Had a Cobra XLR in the truck. "KGT 0204 will be 10-10 till we do it again".
  19. City of Manchester, NH runs double wings in the city. Depends which side of the street the cars are parked as to which wing is down. A one way street can be completely plowed in one pass. NH State highway department will plow the interstate in convoy. Lead truck will have double wings and plow to the left. Every truck has a wing including the hired trucks. I even have one to do my own driveway.
  20. HeavyGunner, I agree with you 100%! I'm stuck driving a Volvo with an "I Shift" and l hate it. l'm no longer a truck driver, just a steering wheel holder now.
  21. Oh Boy! They come flying up along side of you and pace you. And then run you up onto someone going slower. Or your trying to pass one and they speed up so you can't get by. And leave you hanging out in the left lane with a long line behind pushing.
  22. Ranchhopper, Thank you very much for taking the time to help honor our older veterans. This past summer my wife and l were in Washington DC on vacation. While we were at the WW2 memorial an Honor Flight tour arrived. What a moment it was to see the men and woman's expressions as they looked around the memorial. "A wall of 4,048 Gold Stars silently pays solemn tribute to the sacrifice of more than 405,000 American lives." (Info from nps.gov) God bless all our veterans.
  23. Welcome Bert412, The company l drive for covers all of NH delivering to 79 stores. We use "Cheetah" powered by "Sprint" on our EOR's. When all goes as it should the dispatcher can look and see if we are moving or stopped and on or off duty. The problem we have is Sprint does not cover the whole state. When you are out of the service area for Sprint the office can not track you. Then when you get back into the service area you need to reboot your tablet. All the info for the trip is saved in the tablet tho, Log book-VIR-Route/Delivery times.
