  1. The EPA does suck but VW was caught with the hand in the cookie jar and using software that detected an emissions test and changed the profile for the test. Pretty amazing stuff if you asked me.
  2. That's what I thought, filled up as it got dirty. I'll check for the o ring but the filter seems tight and no visible leaks, dry.
  3. All I can see are the Davco 382 filter, no spin on unless it's near the tank, I haven't looked there or under the frame yet.
  4. The whole issue is the clutch brake, the free play is Okay. We were able to adjust the clutch brake to just about to touch, but still nothing. The clutch brake has about [less than] 10% so I'm going to do the whole job.
  5. This is where we are now, we're just going to do both as the clutch is only about 25% at this point.
  6. I have zero clutch brake on the 2004 CV713 I just bought, it was a State of PA Turnpike truck and was maintained but it appears the clutch has never been adjusted, ever! Now the adjustment wheel thing is frozen solid and missing teeth! Do I have to drop the trans to get at it and change the clutch ? The truck had 98,000 miles on it and is fairly tight for a plow truck, very little sign of rust and it looks great. Engine checks out fine except for a possible fuel line leak causing a hard start (that I can't find...) but shifting into 1 or R after getting out is brutal! I've been turning it off and starting in gear to save the gears!
  7. Just bought this Granite single axle CV713 with an AI 350 and sometimes it cranks for 5 seconds or more! Sometimes it fires up on the first turn over and sounds great? Put air in the tank to check for any fuel leaks and nothing? This truck was a PA Turnpike plow truck so it has a fuel heater and I checked that, no leaks? The glass fuel filter on the fire wall is new and only filled about one third the way up, should it be higher? Again, it's not all the time and not always the first start up of the day, it can be as soon as 5 minutes after running for an hour? Has me stumped! Added on edit: the truck has 98,000 miles and 7,000 hours.
