It really is! After all the work the last two winters and painting it in October, so rewarding to be at this point. I’ve had a few friends stop over, that saw it sitting when I took it apart to store it, and can’t believe how it looks now.
(lol) Can't believe how it looks ? I'm not surprised how it looks. I think back to when someone questioned if parts of it were stored in the house. Your response was " the wife might get upset " (or something to that effect) so at some point you must have thought about bringing it in ? ?? (lol) No surprise at all it's coming out nice

You have to love the seeing the fan's reflection in that right side door. Truck's coming out fantastic, nice work.

Holy cow (lol) just a though. Any spin'n at all with no oil isn't gonna help it. Guy found a nice old Mack there, I'd like to see him fire it up with no troubles and have some fun with it. I doubt that truck has ever moved at the speed that Peterbilt'll be drag'n it down the road at.

Mack likes to call it "silastic"

I would think those stacks should be covered so as not to damage the turbo

Looks in a really great shape. Besides restored interior and non-rusted rear wall of the cab the frame represents very good condition. Still can't figure the type of the engine it has. Something like a non-intercooled EM6 of 225 or so HP?
I could be wrong, but I do believe that is the legionary 237 complete with Jacob's engine brake .

If you do install a Jake (?) don't be afraid to set the lash about 20 or 30 thousands more than what's it's supposed to be. You can sneak a little more retarding power out of it. IDK ?? if the truck has a low axle ratio (like your's) it might not be a total waste of time. They're better than nothing, but not much (lol)

I just got a new laptop. Somehow your pictures went to a even higher lever of WOW thanks for posting
Project is coming out fantastic from the looks of it.

That's my point, they run indefinitely if taken care of and little stuff doesn't snowball. But without being familiar with the trucks history ?

Nevermind the miles, how many hours are on it ? Old truck up over 20000 hours ? If nothing was ever done to it, it's at the point anything could happen....and that includes rub'n like a Swiss watch a while longer. Personally, I don't think there's a black or white answer to your question.

Wow. maybe some chrome naked ladies and script that says " haul'n ass " those items would go along well with the bulldog with lighted eyes fro JC Whitney (lol)........and of coarse a No Lot Lizards sticker

Don't both locations have a diagram folded up and in a plastic thing like a shipping label stuck on them ?

no pinion shaft that i`ve ever seen has only three teeth on it . check the number stamped on the yoke end that will tell you exactly what ratio you have .
that's what I said (lol) or was trying to say

Ha.... if it was back when I had the RW in my avitar I'd be jump'n on swap'n with you
-
I believe you'll want a 12.25 X 22.5 rim. But as far as what offset will end up working ?? That's a little more specific to the truck.
-
-
The ratio is stamped on the pinion if you can see it . There's two numbers, the lower one you divide in the higher one.... it's the number of teeth on the ring and pinion.

Probably has numbers on the pinion. If it's not covered in dirty grease (which will come off easily) you'll see two numbers on it that'll suddenly make a lot of sense to divide 😉

I bet someone had green antifreeze in that engine

Glad to hear it's better. Now to find out what caused it 🤔

Never really thought about a tractor pulling a mixer. Now I can almost remember one on the Mack calendar for December 2020. Wonder why they haven't caught on in New York ??? seems a 117K should be able to move some concrete .
