OK I already put in for the time. I am not too concerned about that part. There shouldn’t be a problem. I was just waiting for t for the official set in stone date

Pretty sure it's the second Saturday in August .   Brocky'd probably be the guy to confirm this.

I live a little way off the main road, and nobody really has any need to drive around past my house. Where the Mack is parked (and with other vehicles parked in front of it), it's not exactly the most visible from the highway. Quite frankly, the only way anyone would get close enough to it to know they'd be interested in buying it is if they were somewhere they didn't need to be. I tend to get a little pissy when folks I don't know come snooping around to see what I may have sitting out. Hell, he's lucky he caught me in a good mood so he didn't get to stare down the barrel of my .45. Bottom line, if you don't have a good reason to be on my property, don't be on my property.

I get the invasion of privacy part. You have to remember though, in this day and age there's all sorts of a hole things like Google Earth and all those. You wonder how people find out stuff.  Nothing is private anymore.

I stopped an ask an older gentleman if he would consider selling an old truck. After a lengthy conversation, he said "Do you know how many people stop here and talk and ask to buy that truck every week"? "If I sold that truck, nobody would stop, and I wouldn't have anyone to talk to me." He died the next spring, old house torn down, and truck scrapped, I heard.

Ahhh   happy thoughts  (lol)  .    I think we're all guilty of asking about something someone has no intentions of parting with.

I did convert one of my E9’s to an air actuated fan clutch.  I will tell you the reduction in noise alone is worth the effort.
I used a Kysor style clutch and had a machine shop make me up a hub adapter. I also made an adapter to reuse the steel blade fan.  Run an air solenoid and some tubing and then plumb in an a/c fan switch and voila.
Less noise, cab heat comes much faster, can engage fan manually when running a pto, clutch can be rebuilt when worn. As time allows I plan on changing all my Macks over.

There's a switch that I used to use for the AC.  I forget which it was but one was N/O and one was N/C  it was super easy to wire into a switch like you said for over riding it on the dash.  (did a couple E7s that I had one for a VIN as far as the hub and all)  I too thought it was well worth the effort .

  5. That fan drive needs to be replaced.  I went through 2 on an E9 once. Then the third one worked.  Original failed and would no longer drive . Then replaced it....never came off full on , second one was the same way. Third one worked like a Swiss watch.  And FYI  an E9 with the fan stuck on ?  real treat to try shift'n all day.

no one gives a damn how they sit on the shelf. at the parts houses..  .   When they are on the engine,  they go into service..   centrifugal force and heat tells them what to do...   am I wrong Mark??    jojo

There's something about them being stored. After so long they don't work or take forever to start working correctly.  Like those bear ones you gotta hot wire and let it run at a certain RPM until it frees up

Mark, the last time I ordered the big Atro torque arms,. I have the vendor the length ' on center'. And the bolt hole with,. And size,5/8" or 16mm..  jojo

You can get them, just depends on what parts guy you have to deal with.  One of those Atros, the bushing I'm talking about can be pressed in an Atro rod when that wears out.

  9. You need those ones with the big bushing with the rubber in a "can"  that you can just press a new bushing in.  They're huge and put up a good fight for a while...then you just press a new bushing in.    But ?   find a couple (lol)  not many parts places wanna be bothered anymore (  uhhhhh    model and VIN ?? ..... I can't do anything without that......uuuuhh )  and that's not even mentioning getting new U bolts made that are the biggest thing to fit through the conical washers in the bottom bracket

  10. Sorry to say it, but you need lots of new stuff. That plate between the springs ?  Someone already added to it to stiffen it up.  Whoever had it off or the spring out of it put the bolts back in the wrong holes.  Likely you need saddles, spacers new springs U bolts and the side to side torque rods. These have been known to last only a matter of days in a dump truck sometimes (torque rods).  This really isn't crazy expensive and it's easy to do if you have torches, jacks and a big impact wrench. Then there's the nylon wear pads hide'n in the front spring hanger. Spring needs to be able to slide to work or it just accelerates the wear of everything else. No easy tighten something up here.... you're spend'n some money. And if asked, get parts for AL46 ( the spring is thicker and is better for a dump application ).  Sometimes you're better off getting a bigger torque rod for the side to side than comes in the truck.. like one of those weld to length but ???? gotta watch it'll fit without hitting the carrier.  Someone pointed out the side to side rod may be bent (and it might)  If it is and it's the one called for by the VIN, then the rest is worn allowing it to travel too much.   It also looks like some genius removed the rear shocks. This suspension needs shocks. They stop it from over traveling .
