When Jim put the bus axle under his B, he cut the middle and welded it back together.  Might not have caught that in one of his post, but I did.

I already have the budd hub setup for the rear axle, just trying to find something to convert the front.

Nope I never cought that.    I thought he said it was a direct bolt in.         I also want to switch my front over.

reason     i got into that is i have a complete 9000# front axle with budd hubs new brakes and drums & springs that came out of a gmc topkick 88 or 89 yr model tractor that just might work under a b . if i knew what the b spacing is i would check it out closer

33 1/4" center to center.     I measured from the outside of one spring to the inside of the opposite.

  3. A while back a guy on here built a pickup type B to haul a racecar out of a white and yellow fire truck.   He put  the front axle from a 1996 international school buss.   It supposedly bolted in.                                        I've been measuring and center pin measurements on international trucks is the same as what's on the B.     what I've been finding is most of the modern axles have 4" springs instead of our 3".                somewhere else on here I read the R front axle is 3" wider, but works.       Idk if that's overall or each side.

  4. I don't know if there using it or just moving it.    One day it's been in the front row then I don't see it the next day.      Or maybe it could have something to do with it being   1:30 in the morning.

don't have facebook but the wife does and I want one!!

Same situation here.    Today's one of those days I'd like to tell her a few places she can go, but this is probably alot better option. So where should I politely ask her to look up?

Keystone fence supply?    I use to deliver to a grocery store on the other side of 501 from them.

Just FYI. I went to the truck salvage yard and got a S.S. viser of a wrecked Peterbuilt for $100 that was in like new condition. It was to wide and the angle in the center was wrong. I mounted one side on my 58 B model where it fit best. The mounts had the correct angle and mounted with the bottom edge at the top edge of the windshield rubber. I then pulled a string from my bulldog over the viser  to the center of the clearence light because it was to long and had the wrong angle and marked it according to the where the string lied, I cut the viser 3/4" long and bent it down like the original bend where i had marked it. I re-drilled the holes and did the same with the passenger side. I bolted it back together in the center and remounted it I then trimmed the outside to match the rain gutter and bolted it to the cab. It turned out great. My wife thought it was a brand new one I had ordered.

    Picture please.

big gap between the shell and headlight panel? I have ran into that. usually takes loosening and adjusting. have seen them so tight you had to fight to get the shell on to.

It's more like the flat area that the hood latches bolt to hit the inner headlight panels that goes between the fenders and radiator support.   Then when I pull the top back to line the bolts up that go under the hood welting it kicks the bottom out.
