like a good operator, looks like you have all the basics covered. Looks like you might have to dig deeper.
Hope you can get it figured out. Sorry i can't offer any advice.

Brian has it covered, but to add a little more, I think the basic concept of the vent j_martell is, as the oil leaves the reservoir to fill the lift cylinders, it has to be replaced by air. If air can't get in the reservoir , oil won't be able to easily leave, creating a vacuum in the tank.
A good spot to check
Also , might sound stupid but your oil level is right? were you loading uphill or downhill, and the oil supply line on the high side of your tank.

Thanks BAD DOG, I have seen pics of the F700, I think you posted them. It looks very sharp!
As much as I would like to have something that is very rare. I think it would give me a nervous breakdown trying to get it restored. Its a chore buying parts for an R600
at times. I can just see the look on the parts guys face when I ask for something for a 1950 LMU.
Very interesting truck though.

I have been trying to figure that out Jim, I think it is about an hour west of my place. It looks like some type of museum.
You guys have me thinkn I should own it. I don't think I need another project though.
Thanks for the input!

I've never seen anything like it. I'm assuming its rare ?

No connection
The ad says 1950 Mack, but I'm not sure what model. I was wondering if someone knew what it was.
It looks like it has suicide doors?

What a cool truck!!! See that frame… wow ! I don't think it would be too hard to get that beauty looking like the day it rolled out of the Oakville assembly plant.
Lets see, 4000 Km from my place.
Never happen.
I hope someone that appreciates it, ends up with it.

Sorry J_martell, I don't know the answer to your question. I am thinking they are lighter, but don't know for sure. Maybe someone else on here may have some insight.
Good question though.

Yes , a hook lift. He has a different bins and the flat bed for it.
I agree though, rusty flatbed stands out.

A good friend of mine just got his new Granite. It is the first Mack he has ever owned. I hope it works well for him.
I might have specs wrong, but I am pretty sure - 345 cummins with 6 speed auto, 14,6 front 23 rear, air ride.
I got to take it for a spin. O wow, what a nice truck. I'm think'n it would be easy to spend a day in it, as long as your not sitting at the Mack dealer waiting for repairs. Very nice truck!!

Looks like we have more than chassis saver in common.
I had a 70 chev too. A CST (custom sport truck) It came from North Carolina. I did a frame up restoration. I loved that truck.
Sold it at Carlisle so I could by a 1979 Brigadire. Wasn't one of my smartest moves.
I am going to get some boiled linseed oil, and be careful what I do with the rags.
Thanks

I'm not familiar with treating metal with linseed oil bigdog. But I am thinking it would be a good rust preventative for the cab. Everything
else on the trucks gets crown rustproofing.
Would I just wipe it on, then wipe off excess?
When I wash the truck would I be washing the linseed off?
I also wanted to thank you, You mentioned chassis saver to me. I replied I had to find out what the Canadian equivalent would be.
Turns out I can buy your chassis saver here. I recently painted the frame of my snowplow with it. I agree with you, good stuff.

You have come to the right place. A lot of knowledgeable Mack people here.

I would think the barn demo job would be very dusty . Could it be possible the air cleaner has got plugged up?? I wouldn't think so, but an easy thing to check.

The engine changed color in the span of 2 short years.
Is it possible they changed engines because they are in the oil recovery business
Very nice rig ,either way
