Maybe take it to a hydraulic cylinder shop and see if they can rebuild it?

That arsehole got his schooling at Desales University, about 3 miles from my house........😐

The Mack Museum had all the archives but I am pretty sure they were recently shipped up to the Brockway guys in Cortland.

There was a guy at Macungie and 5 or 6 years in a row he would ask me to sell him the F.W.D. Firetruck. Every year I would explain the sentimental value of it and that I would never get rid of it as long as my body was able to maintain life. He would always say "C'mon, I'll give you $10,000 cash right now, I just have to transfer the money!" Finally after the 5th or 6th time I finally told him to FO. I guess that got through because I never heard from him since.

I concur. Paul and I were in regular contact there for a while. He was building a model of a US Navy Apache-Class oceangoing tug for me to give to my father. We chit chatted regularly about anything and everything and he would ask me for various pics of my father's ship but then the comms stopped. Nothing. Nadda. Nichts. Nein. Zero. Zilch. Very not like him. I regret never having gotten his phone number or home address, I tried to find both so I could at least maybe speak to a family member.

Wow, thank you very much for the kind words. Lots of people were disappointed that you weren't there, they really wanted to meet you. It was very nice, everybody there seemed to have a good time, and they loved the venue. The tractors with mighty Detroit Diesel engines in them were a huge hit with everyone too.
We had a lot of food left over too- a lot! Along with a pickup load of beer.
You got Hamms for the poor confused soul that painted his bulldog that shit yellow, didn't you?

I just wanted to take a minute to say to one of the finest couples that I have ever had the privilege and honor of knowing, that I am absolutely ecstatic for both of you. I have followed the romance from the start, and the two of you complement one another with absolute perfection. I am so stoked you got married, and so deeply saddened that Star and I could not make it.
All of our love to both of you-

generjunks are the best selling generators........because every time people need them they have to buy a new one.
I have a 6KW Generac and never have any trouble with it. I installed a quarter turn fuel valve and run it dry of the ethanol free (the ONLY fuel I will put into it) every time I am done with it.

Here's an old picture. This is a mighty 6-71 Detroit Diesel engine in a 1958 FWD fire truck.
This is me, throwing the bullshit flag.

I tried to post a video of the initial start but I dunno what I am doing (as far as posting videos.) You will just have to take my word that it idled as smooth as the prom queen's thighs.

Casey (SMALL who isn't so small at 11 years old now) and my father in the beginning stages of disassembly.
The timing belt with a 5-inch portion worn down. There's yer issue.
A very happy boy seeing piston heads.
After careful, thorough inspection which revealed no evidence of piston/valve contact, we cleaned everything up and started re-assembly. New head bolts, water pump, timing/serpentine/PS belts, new coil/plugs/wires.
Filled the cups with diesel for 24 hours. Nothing leaked down.
Casey dipping the new head bolts in oil.
Casey pulling on the torque wrench. 25/50 then one more 1/4 turn. He was able to do them all except the 1/4 turn, not enough arm strength yet. His tightening patter cheat sheet is that paper on the shock tower.
