That's probably due to fretting which is common on the whole 855 family, specially upwards of 500hp..after so many overhauls , probably an out of frame , resurfacing the block and main caps and then a line bore to bring it back to true woulda been needed .

E7 350hp to 500hp that will live

I second that.i would love to get my hands on a pln 427 with a 13 speed and 3.86 gears to pull my end dump...spice it up with a blixton module, oversized injectors and upgraded turbo.. -

Yes, agreed , i meant for the listing to show what engine brake valve cover spacer looked like.. would like to also add that maxidynes are usually paired with 5,6,7,8 speed maxitorques trans which have an end overdrive of .64 -

I'm not sure what chassis he's working with. But unless he has a CL or rw ,he Will probably have to shoehorn it in there..lol..... And if so, b model cats seem to be making a comeback. There's a couple guys out there that are building 600 hp b model kitties 😻. -

https://www.facebook.com/share/14SusdGPbNi/ Something like this is what you're looking for. Price is a bit high, but it has engine brake. Like previously mentioned, you can tell it has engine brake spacer between the valve cover and the head. -
Saw this on book face. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1BehPzP7M2/

Test for static pressure and under load. If you get hose long enough, you can zip tie it to the windshield wiper and drive it around the block.Dont remember the most minimum pressure requirements but someone here will chime in.

Hello all, joining the conversation late , yet I would love to chime in. Brett3876 I believe was using a mechanical e7 with 454hp pistons for decreased compression.Turned up pump up with matching injectors and turbo. He has some YouTube videos up I believe.I was very impressed by their set up. -
Your right... usually one can tell they're plugged because seals get moist and don't yet leak , also the bolts holding the traverse torque arm bracket. On this case it was the overfilled banjo housing, bearing back lash was not in spec but not loose enough for both seals to fail at simultaneously.

Yeah that's the first thing I did. Vent was clear

Eaton most likely, while personally I like mack transmissions for their robustness and a bit extra overdrive.eatons are far more available in this area and cheaper to rebuild.and The truck is not mine. Is my buddies. So he has the last say.
-
For now we'll make the 10 speed work , but will definitely be hunting for a 13 speed core to rebuild.as of now it seems to be a very reliable truck, only thing is has asked for was a set of wheel seals , previous owner replaced both diffs with reman units and the front diff was about 2.5 gallons overfilled causing in my opinion excess pressure and blowing out seals.
-
I agree with that ..we had another option to buy a truck with a 460 but chose this one for the 427 flatter wider torque curve..we've been trying to get a 13 speed sourced out ,since we hope this would fix the wide gap in between the top gears ,but kinda wanted to figure out if it was a gearing issue or power issue...buddy and I have both owned trucks with t2090 trans and 4.17 gears ..I had a 350 hp pln and he had a 400 hp etech and both would pull harder than this truck.also would like to mention that this lag is present both loaded and empty.boost gauge is coming , also will dig out from my horde a pressure gauge with a long enough hose to check fuel pressure while engine is under load. thanks all red
-
It's not equipped with a boost gauge , but pyro doesn't seem to go above 900 on hard pull...and yea those last three gears seems like the rpm range dont fall on the sweet spot , and just won't pull ... eventually it will come up to speed but it just seems like the rpm range and transmission gearing are off. We've tried shifting all over the RPM range and same result every time.

Set forward axle...and yes sir, it's well kept for its age.. brought it back from Orlando to Houston bout a month ago . Since then we've been busy installing a brand new wet kit, raising and fixing the fifth wheel pivot and a bunch of other little things

Hello all , my buddy and I picked up a 2001 sfa ch613 sleeper truck , 427 , 10 speed eaton and 4.17s on Hendrickson air ride.truck looks and rides great..on the lower gears and the two gears after going into high range it pulls like a bat out of hell but the remaining gears it falls on its face.no flash codes on the dash.would like to know if the transmission was switched from the original one that came with it , maybe with one that had different spaced gear ratios.....last six of vin are 139047.thanks in advance... Another one fellas, not mine just local.texas is not really mack country and there's plenty of deals to be had.. mostly rust free
-
Not mine .This truck is local to me....I've seen it a couple times sitting in a lot of I10 in channel view,tx.. thought it was cool
-
I remember my pops had a ch with the stiffest clutch ever.. ended up being wrong cable, I think it was too long.
-
It's my buddy's truck ..I haven't spoken to him since last post.ill keep y'all informed
