  4. Junior, I have an overhaul manual that would work for your E6 350, published Nov. 84, fingerprints on front and back cover, one loose page, the rest are great, a T2090/T2100 service manual, February 1984, excellent, and an electrical systems manual, 1985, excellent condition. Give me a call if you still need something like these. 217-827-4271

  9. Has anybody out there had any experience on converting an R688ST from 3 leaf spring to Newway air ride. Just wandering about the cost and all.
  10. I currently have one in my 01 CH. All I can say is guys either love em or hate em. I thought it sounded like a great idea when I bought my 01, I've learned to adjust I guess. Like others have said you split every gear position, lo/hi,back to lo next gear, so on of course. Nothing new to you guys. But what works best for me is to first off, positively DON'T get in a big hurry to punch the throttle shifting up with a split. Stop light traffic will get the best of you in this one. Just don't hurry and you'll be fine. I start out easy, and throttle my shifts to 15-1600 all the time. If you go up past that you have to wait too long for the rpms to come back to 1200 for it to complete the shift up, I always preselect my splitter on the way up also. Then if you get in a hurry, and punch the throttle too soon, you've missed it all together. Other trucks try to run my ass over ALL the time. I'll be the first to admit, I'm not a jack rabbit. But pay attention what position you're at all the time. I've got a 427 in front of mine. It's all right I guess. But I drove a Superliner with an E9 and a Mack 12 behind it one time, shifts just the same way. Man but a SWEEEEET son of a bitch. That's what I would call an ideal truck. Anyway, that's my judgment on the Super 10.
  11. AMEN Rob, This should be published in every paper, billboard, and editorial in this country from now until 2012!!!!!!
  12. Hey out there, Can anybody tell me who's got a good serviceable takeoff turbo to fit my 85 688ST E6 350 Econodine? Everything else is fine, turbo getting weak on boost. Thanks
  13. Mackpro, Why does the range syncros still fail, is it a lack of preselecting the range button? Then grinding the syncros?
  14. Thanks for posting that MackPro, just reading through it tells me that Mack has not improved that much over the 200 series. I was hoping that they upgraded enough to be with the times. Sounds like as much of a pain my Super 10 is, I better just put up with it . Thanks Again
  15. What is the difference between the T200 series and the T300 series transmissions. I have a T2090 in my R model. Are they any more driver friendly, or easier to shift? I've been thinking about swapping out the Super10 in my CH for a T310. But are they really better than the 200 series? I really like 2090 In the R, but I have to clutch to come out of gear in the high side to make a really smooth shift. I also need to look at the ratios to see if they are pretty close to each other. Thanks
  16. The first thing I thought of being wrong is a head. Of coarse that is the worst case imaginable, but I've been there before with an E7, but are readily available. My Mack dealer in Decatur Il. could not find any, reman. or new, anywhere in the U.S.. I called Adelman's in Ohio. Same story, NONE ANYWERE!!!! UGH!!! I tested an E9 out Sat. in Indy. Perfect truck, fell in LOVE with the E9, but had this one little problem, coolant in blowby....I won't by a pink elephant. Or something I can't afford to chase down parts all over the country. I have'nt the time being an owner/operator. But I so appreciate the come back from all who responded to my call for help. SOMEDAY?
  17. Does anyone out there know where a guy can find good heads for the E9?. Found a truck ,but might need a head, or maybe more than one. Leaking a little coolant inside. I know it could be a cooler also. Just want to know what's available. Thanks
  18. Can any of the Superliner gurus tell me what an 86 RW653 signifies. Engine, heavy frame, so on?. This one has an E9 500w/12 spd Mack. Or that's the way it's advertised. I'm familiar with some of the R Model numbers designations but not this one. Hope to look at this weekend , maybe. Thanks in advance, Denny
  19. Can anybody tell me if there are any major differences between the B61 and B68? Like body trim changes, grill, nose trim, Gross weight difference etc.? Haven't had the chance to go look at it yet, but the one I've located has had the gas swapped out and what sounds like a non turbo 673 installed. Also has a 20 speed Quad. You guys know more on these than I do. That's why I'm asking. I'm more in tuned with late R Models. Thanks for any help you can give me.
  20. I'm trying to find a nice set of inside trim door panels for my 85 R688ST. The trim color inside the cab is tan. I can't seem to find the correct padded, stitched, style trim panels. My Mack dealer says they're no longer available in stock.Sorry, I don't have any pictures of what I've got now. Not quite that tech. advanced yet! . Any help guys? Thanks..
  21. Mack had a lot of trouble with bad cams I think between 99 and 02. Factory wised up to the fact that it was faulty metalurgy in production of some cams. Quite a bit were recalled under warranty, Mack replaced them. I got an 01 CH with an E7 427 2 years ago. My dealer brought up the vin. before I bought it, and had already been swapped out by a Mack dealer. Well, 6 mos. ago I noticed a squalling at idle, right in the center of the block, resonating up through the turbo. Took It to the dealer. BAD CAM!. Nos. 3 and 5 exhaust lobes were transferring metal. So in with a new one. Hope they solved them this time. They're not cheap by any means. It takes a while to make that back in trucking! I think some were never changed out either, you could have one that finally just gave out. No consolation though, right? Good Luck
  22. Hi Rob, I was just curious to know if you happened to see this truck at Glatz Mack? I stopped by there today for a fuel filter and saw one that caught my eye. It sounds just like the one you described. Just had to take a quick look, as I needed to get back home. But that one looked very straight to me . I'm just 30 minutes away from there. Good Luck!
  23. Man, I think I should've gone to bed, too long of a day. I did'nt even notice the part about camelback until later. SORRY bud.
  24. Hey Mack, I know you hate to spend the money, especially right now,but I think I would bite the bullet and put a set , both sides on. If the arch is pretty well out of the springs, it might handle kind of funky loaded with just one side new. I had one do the same thing, 95 CH axle back. But it was also a main or top spring that broke. The change in pitch might throw your steering off a bit. Safety First when going down the road with a load like ours.
