  1. There is one guy that's moaning about Mack being owned by Volvo, and that's not me.
  2. Mack was allready sold to a foreign entity decades ago! Remember Renault ? Mack had died somehow since they were purchased by Renault . Where was the gov back in the. 80' ? How did they allow this? Once you are owned by somebody you have no say regarding your future . You are just an ASSET .
  3. That is just a regular Chn or Chu. Get some better picture and everyone will see. There was not such think as Axle forward Cl
  4. Finally somebody that knows Mack sleepers. I can only argue with you about the desk top or table. I would not call that a drawer just because it pulls out. That is only a table or a work desk. Just because it draws it doesn't make it a drawer. Good feedback
  5. Had a 2008 CXU and did the cups at 70000 km and then no problems for as long as I had that truck (735000 km) Now I have a 2012 CHU and just did the cups and 1 injector a week ago at 420000 km its like a never ending thing
  6. First you got the nr and model wrong. We say '' GOT A VISION WITH 70 INCH MID ROOF SLEEPER''; that's all right I'm just bugging you Well, I don't now where your truck was built or actually I don't now if you now what a cabinet and drawer is; I have spend 3 1/2 years in a 70inch mid roof sleeper made by Mack and I couldn't find that cabinet or drawer So let me give you some Mack sleeper education. Today Mack offers 6 sleepers We have a 34, a 48, and a 56 inch flat tops We have a 60 and a 70 inch mid roofs And we have a 70 inch high roof Let's take them one by one and see if we can find that cabinet or drawer of yours THE 34 INCH FLAT TOP was recently introduced for Granite and Titan and it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in it for storage THE 48 INCH FLAT TOP offered on Pinnacle has NO SHELVES, NO CABINETS, NO DRAWERS THE 56 INCH FLAT TOP offered on Pinnacle has 2 shelves and NO DRAWERS , NO CABINETS THE 60 INCH MID ROOF offered on Pinnacle has lots of potential but not exploited So for this one we have an option. Fridge or no fridge. Behind the drivers seat there is a unit that can be fitted with a fridge or a cabinet instead. Behind the passenger seat there is a wardrobe. That is a wardrobe because it has a bar at the top for coat hangers . That is not a cabinet. I said that this sleeper has lots of potential because there is lots of space not used on the sides and on the back wall. So the conclusion with this one is: If you don't go for the fridge you CAN HAVE A CABINET but NO SHELVES, NO DRAWERS THE 70 INCH MID ROOF offered on Pinnacle has 2 shelves and again a wardrobe on the passenger side. Behind the drivers seat there is a unit that can be fitted with a fridge or A BIG HOLE . Yes, if you don't take the fridge they'll give you nothing. There is also a pull out table or work desk on top of the fridge or big hole unit. So the conclusion with this one is: If you don't go for the fridge you CAN HAVE A BIG HOLE, and you CAN HAVE THE SHELVES,but NO CABINETS, NO DRAWERS. THE 70 INCH HIGH ROOF offered on Pinnacle has lots of storage space in it and its the only one offered with bunk beds It will have pretty much the same units like the 70 inch mid roof except the shelves( because of the top bed ) There is an attic style storage space on top of cab and 2 cabinets placed higher on the sleeper walls( one on each side) This sleeper has lots of storage space for one guy and even for a team. Even if we don't have the shelves and the drawers ( basically we don't have drawers in any Mack sleepers) I have to say that this is acceptable. So coming back to your 70 inch mid roof sleeper. Where are the cabinets and the drawers? Do your homework buddy and don't misinform people. That is not right.
  7. You just had to right? Well sir what can I say? Can you blame me???? After everything I've been trough with Mack quality I just couldn't do a happy dance You are calling me a '' chronic complainer''. Maybe I am but let me tell you something: If they would put this cabs together with some more responsibility I WOULD NOT COMPLAIN the way I'm not complaining about the power train and running gear. My advice to anyone that wants to by a truck with sleeper is STAY AWAY FROM MACK ; it's not worth it There are way better trucks out there when it comes to sleepers As long as you stick with day cabs you will be all right. There are not to many things that they can screw up You are running day cabs right logman? What and how much you now about Mack sleepers? How much time you have spend in Mack sleepers specially the new ones? Definitely NOTHING and NO TIME and if you do, you have absolutely no sense of quality. But you make comments about me and my posts. I can assure you that all I said is true and real. I see that you run a Superliner, a CL, and a Titan. Let me tell you about your trucks and then you correct me if I'm wrong. The Superliner was sold primarily as a day cab( like most of the Mack trucks) and occasionally with sleeper box. From some brochures I've read there was a 60 inch mid roof removable sleeper( the way Mack still builds their trucks now days so we can get flooded) and a bunch of flat tops that I didn't see in the brochure but I've seen pictures of them. According to your nickname I assume that you work in the logging industry, so you may have or not have a sleeper on that Superliner. I assume not The CL was the replacement of Superliner and it was not offered with a factory installed sleeper( big mistake here) The Titan was the replacement of CL and when it was lunch in 2008 again not offered with a factory installed sleeper Finally they put a sleeper on Titan but it's a 34inch one and has NOTHING in it for storage. So back to our discussion Mr. Logman HOW MUCH DO YOU NOW ABOUT MACK SLEEPERS? Probably as much as LICERNE TRACTOR
  8. No LED lights as far as I now but you can get some HID or projector type headlamps which is way better than probably what you have The MH has the 4 rectangular lamps right? There are a lot of options for you just check TRUCK-LITE.com or JW SPEAKER.com
  9. Yes you are right about that I used to get top brands bulbs like PIAA, VISION, HELLA but I quit because of the longevity of them bulbs They don't last longer than your average Sylvania, Jetco, Wagner, etc. but they are 3 times more money. So I found myself damping money on bulbs A Sylvania bulb is 16$ when a PIAA is around 60$ But I have to say that the light is way better with the fancy ones and if I don't find a way to get some different headlights on this truck I'll have to have the headlights perfectly adjusted and aimed and get back to the top brands again The thing that affects the longevity of the bulb is the fact that we have to have the lights on all the time here in Canada; it's the law. Any car or truck or vehicle of any kind has to have the lights on when in motion For example Freightliner is using the signal lights for this when Mack is using the headlights Mack has a DRL relay( daytime running lights) that kicks in when the breaks are released and limits the wattage send to the bulbs a bit, maybe 80% or so when the lights switch is not on But anyways once you release the breaks the lights are on and they stay on for as long as you drive all day every day. That shortens the life of the bulbs significantly
  10. Unfortunately the fog lights don't help me a lot. 99% of my driving is done on two lane hwy. I can't use them a lot unless is after midnight when traffic eases a bit. Is probably if not the busiest two lane hwy in north America ; Hwy 63; it goes from Edmonton AB to Northern Alberta's oil sands. That is a sick hwy and I drive on it for the last 5 1/2 years. That is how I put almost 1 mill miles on 2 Pinnacle tractors I can't tell much about the old Mack trucks but when it comes to the'' new breed '' Mack I now this trucks better than my own pockets
  11. Yes is true. Somebody else is calling the shots now. There are a couple of things that need improvement on Mack trucks, for example the wipers switch? Volvo and Mack have the same style stalker for the onboard computer( co-pilot at Mack) On that stalker Volvo has the wipers control too when Mack is using that old style switch on the dash.
  12. I have to say that Mack makes really good wiring, harnesses, etc. Didn't have to replace a fuse in 5 years of driving this Pinnacle tractors. Actually o don't remember to have had any kind of electrical issues
  13. Good thinking. That is how I picture the new CHU; with the granite-titan style headlight And also cab mounted exhaust for the overall look. That would be a hot seller Thanks for reply
  14. Yes I will definitely be aware of that. I am not willing to do any modifications to the factory harness, relay, fuses etc. Thanks for your reply
  15. Thank you. Good info. I am communicating with a sales guy from SCLLITHNING. Maybe I can get something working I really appreciate your interest
  16. Yes you are right. I forgot to mention that the MRU and first generation Granite can be upgraded to aftermarket HID lights because they have a pretty popular 7" round headlight made by almost if not all aftermarket companies.
  17. what model? CHU or CXU? How sure are you of that? How do you now? I'm asking because sometimes I'm so fed up with Mack that is hard to believe that they will move a finger for something or listen to customers unless you order 200-300 trucks
  18. Is yours a CHU or CXU? The CXU ( former CX-CXN Vision) are not that bad. I think that when they designed the Vision in mid 90' the headlights were ahead of their time. But again, nothing has changed since. My personal opinion is that the CXU headlights are begging for some projector type of light for low beam. They have the shape and style for that kind of design. I hope Mack will make a move in the near future.
