Maybe you have done this already but in case you haven't. A lot of Detroit powered trucks had a tire valve stem drilled into the fuel cap. That way you could pressureize the tank to push fuel up to the engine. Becareful not to put to much pressure. We have a 84 8V92 silver that is mean to get going if you run her out of fuel. Just a thought. Hope it helps

Walters are cool! I hauled one out of NY a few years ago that had a blower on it. The engine for the blower took up the entire back of the truck. It was powered by a V8 Leroi 2002 cubic inch!!! The man who sold it told me that he use to run it for the county. The exhaust was 4 in long. It sounded great. I had a 56 Walters. The only true 4 wd. Good score. If you think you may want to part with her let us know

I think you could still but a General in Canada up to 89. In fact some had series 60 Detroits in them

How come when I asked for a clutch fan last fall I didn't get this info from you folks? Superior turbo just sent me a viscous fan. its brand new. part # SRF197703K $625 is what I paid for it. I should proof read before I post.

Slop loads are hard on trucks. Most barnyards aren't very friendly either. Sorry to hear your losing intrest but I do understand.

Ok. I had a great idea. It was Get off my butt and go look at the Cylinders. Cruiseliner cylinders are 5 in to long. I have several lift cylinders around I will check the others in the day light and let you know what I have
-
I was able to get a new lift cylinder from our local Mack dealer. I have had several rebuilt by local hydraulic shop also.. Now you have me wondering. Is there a difference between a Cruiseliner and a MH cylinder?
-
All excellent suggestions. Thank you very much. A few extra lights in the right places it is then.

Ok folks here it is. The BIG question. LOL. Im trying to settle a debate with friends on adding extra non factory lights to a classic clean truck. Now I like "chicken" lights as much or more than the next guy. BUT. If you own a clean unmolested truck should you leave it alone or personalize it? My last new dropdeck had 32 marker lights that I had installed at the factory. I like lights but I also like a clean unmolested truck. Throw in youre 2 cents

Learn something everyday. On 287 couple weeks ago I did see a UPS KW. That was a shock
-
My MH has very nice interior. Its the grey that you have in the picture. I have it listed for sale. If it doesn't sell maybe we can talk about parting it out
-
Why on earth would they replace a door that wouldn't rust with a steel door? That doesn't sound like progress
-
If im not mistaken, Which I have been known to be wrong before, the ex told me that. 83 MH's came with single round headlights. After that you could order them but 4 square was the norm. Also, as far as I know 83 was only a half year for the MH. If someone knows otherwise please let me know

Features a Mack Cruiseliner on the cover, behind a blonde. Does it mean im getting old when I check out the Cruiseliner before looking at the blonde? OOPS my bad. Its on Ebay not C.L
-
Has to many frills for UPS. Bullet cab lights, MACK on the grill, Sleeper, tandem and a 9 spd. Not bad money for the old girl
-
LOL!! Yes time for a lottery ticket!! I am a very happy boy.
-
Wow. That must have been interesting with the shift tower set up that Cruiseliners have. .78 is a decent overdrive.

That's what I am wondering. I pushed her kinda hard this last trip but it ran fine
-
Guess im not buying a 12 spd anytime soon

When I pulled the drain plug in oil pan I found 1 side of a valve keeper. Truck just cam in from an 1,400 mile run and sounds good. Do I start by pulling rocker covers or just plan on pulling heads? Would like to find out which head its from. Im just discouraged at the moment

Thanks for all the input! Im the only driver, its a summer truck. I have an 85 MH for the winter time. ! question I forgot to ask. What is the overdrive ratio of a 12 spd? Do they make different overdrives?
