Yes I did. We were high bidder the first time it was listed. Made them an offer, they relisted it. We came to terms. Lol. Now I need more parts. Thank you for the turbo info.

Just bought an 81 Mack that the turbo is missing. So I don't have a core. What direction can folks point me to for buying a new/reman turbo?
-
WOW!! The driver survived that? That's scary looking

My old boss told me that the DM Mack I drove was a "Dream Machine". That's what DM stood for. LOL. Great Video. Thanks for posting

What was the name of the company on page one with the fleet of Superliners pulling bullracks?
-
I doubt it would have pulled its self up the ramp backwards, maybe. BUT COE's are the easiest truck to load. just line youre self up with the edge of trailer. The rest will fit, especially on todays 102" wide trailers. Throttle jockeys

That is interesting. Almost like that grill better than the one on an MH.

Concord, NH sure isn't far away. What is your IH 4000? Got any Pics?
-
Welcome! And you have old tractors to boot. This is a great place to chew the fat about old iron. Lots of valuable information to be found here.

StJay is 45 mins south of you? Wouldn't that put you over the border? LOL. Unless youre really up in the "Northeast Kingdom?" That pic of the wife plowing reminded me of my Ex's first winter up here. She isn't just a southern gal she was from southern Fl. I plow for the state and I got a call that she was plowing the yard. UH OH. My yard truck is an IH Fleetstar Det power with an Allision tire chains with a 4000 lb block on it. Not much stops it. Everything was undamaged when I got home

Im not a fan either but then again im a fan of unusual trucks anyway. That MH does look like an IH 9000 series top. Hopefully we will be adding another Cruiseliner to the ranks soon. Then we have to get the very rare Astro going. To many trucks not enough time/money

Would have liked to have it before they canablized it

Its sad but true. May we never forget one of the reasons we "collect" old iron. To share, help, promote the history of what old iron is and means. I enjoy trucking only part time now but when I do you can be sure its in "classic" iron. When im at a truck show and someone comes up to me with a story of what they did years ago in a truck like we have. It makes all worth while. We get emails every week on our website thanking us for keeping the history alive. One day when my brother had his B61 at the fuel stop, yes we have a couple HOODS, an od fella came up to him and started talking how he ran one just like it. He offered my brother his wallet to hold just so he could sit in it while it was running. My brother told him keep your wallet in fact take it for a ride. The mans son was there, who had to be in his 50's said that his Dad couldn't drive anymore but he thanked him for letting the old fella sit in it. When the man got out of the truck he had tears in his eyes. That my friends is what makes this "hobby" worth it!! By the way, 4 weeks later that mans son saw my brother. He told him how that made the old mans day and that was all he talked about, you see, he died 1 week after that. OLD TRUCKS COLLECT THE NICEST PEOPLE

Ok thanks. Im gathering up parts for my Cruiseliner so I can use that this summer. Fixed the A.C. last summer only to have the welded grilldenser leak in another spot. Still looking for "eastcoast" dash parts and directional. By the depth of the snow I have plenty of time.
-
That's good to know. I did replace both resistors and blower motors. Now im trying to get air to the drivers side floor. I will check the duct work again. Bought a book on MH heater/A.C. Only problem its for 86 and up. Mine is 85. The book covers the 2 lever air control where as my 85 is a 3 lever cable over electric control. Learning as we go.

LOL!!! Im always amused by folks who complain about the cold but yet they live in a northern climate. Go figure

Are the grills on a Superliner the same as a Cruiseliner?
-
Replaced the treddle valve today. Seems ok bobtailing. Find out for sure when I go retrieve my hay trailer.
-
OK. You just answered my question. Maybe ours was a "late" 82?
-
Now that's cool. Thanks for posting
-
OK. Thanks. Guess I was told wrong many years ago. Our 82 had ATAAC and I was told that was the first of the 350's. Good to know. Thank you
-
Did Mack make a 350 E6 with the tip turbine? I thought a true 350 were only ATAAC?
-
That would be cool. Then again most trucks look cool under a bullrack

Did I read on here somewhere that the R in a hp rating means its a 350 for a 5 or 6 speed? as oppose to a standard 350 set up for say a ten or 13 speed. example E6 315R instead of a E6 315
