OK, now were going to test your, MH knowledge. I've been told that there was a recall on the 85 MH's about a brake problem. The same problem I have. The brakes SOMETIMES stay on after you take your foot off the pedal. It takes 30 to 50 seconds for them to relase completely. The notice says to reaplace the check valve with an updated or bigger bore check valve. Where is the check valve and has anybody else heard of this?

I wish I could scan. I have an MH sale brochure and the purchase order when we ordered a new MH in march of 89. It's cool to look thru. Our local dealer insisted that they spec the truck. WE wanted a 15 spd overdrive with 4.17's or 3.87's but they would not do that. Told them we wanted it kinda snazzy. They specd it with single exhaust steel tanks and steel wheels. Went back sat down tried again. It list the options price for alum tanks and wheels and dual exhaust, plus air ride. They wouldn't budge on the tranny or gear ratio. Ended up buying a motorized pallet jack AKA Freightliner instead.

Do the MH's have different model numbers for different engines? My MH is a 633 which means Cummins. My Cruiseliner is a 721 which means E9 400 as oppose to 722 which means E9 440. Just courious

Yes sir, that is a cool looking ride
-
Did anybody see the black Cruiseliner for sale on TruckPaper? Nice looking truck.
-
If I can get the volume of air that's coming out of the defroster to the floor vent I think it would be ok. I didn't want to run the Cruiseliner in the salt but that truck has good heat where you need it

I am going to Mack this am to get a treddle valve. The pedal kicks back at you sometimes as well as has full brake with very little foot pressure. See what happens next.

Awesome pics! Thanks for posting

I do like your MH. Sharp looking ride

5.4? wow. My old cruiesliner with the E9 gets @ 6.1 pulling a dropdeck. And like Superdog states, NO TRUCK PAYMENTS

Got the heater motor in. PHEW!!! International had the motor and resistors. No one had the squirrel cage. So, a little heat and prying we saved the old one. Went to northern N.H wed at minus 10. Had frost on the inside of cab, froze my feet!! Just ordered an MH book on heater/ac. Hopefully that will shed some light on the subject. Not quite ready for the Ice Roads yet

Oh that's a shame. I am NOT a fan of Pilot.

About 4 years ago I running with a friend down 81 in Va. Exit 195? A couple miles off the hwy was a cool truck stop that had toy trucks all around inside the restraunt. Cant remember the name of it.

These days its hard to beat Dysart's near Bangor. Me. Little pricy but still an "old school" truck stop.

LOL. I would gladly take pics. But I am severely electroincly challeneged. I admire those of you who post pics of cool things. The Ex set up our website. That's why that doesn't get updated as often as it should. I have a big computer, scanner, digital camera. Now if I can figure out how to make them talk to each other.

I did get the frame with the heater motors out. FYI. There are 2 screws down low in the front of box that hold duct work together. Now all I need to do is get the squirrel cage off the motor shaft. Allready have the set screw out and sprayed shaft with PB blaster. Keep you updated if you like

Just remember with the older 13 spds you don't want to shift the splitter and the lever at the same time when shifting up. You get caught in "double neutral". It's ok to do when down shifting. You will do it a few times then you will decide its not worth stopping to start over at the bottom

You folks remember the truck-n-trailer sitting on top of the oil tanks in Fultonville, Ny? There were 2 stuffed characters in the cab. Snowbunnie and fluffie? Thruway mafia made the truckstop take it down.

I miss the Green Shingle on I90 just west of Erie, Pa. That was a great stop. The American Travel plaza in Frystown use to be one of my hang outs. Sad to see that the Flying crook aka, Pilot took over. just isn't the same

The front fan never works and the wiring to it is melted. Im gonna try again here in a min. It's cold out there and the wind is hollowing.
-
I have the seat and cover off. I was wondering about the frame with the two motors in it. You answered my other question, my feet will be cold when driving it.
-
Ok, I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed BUT. How do you remove the heater motor from an MH? Do they come out together as one unit? If so how do unhook the duct work?
-
Only happens when I use the brake pedal. And not all the time. I was told there is another relay valve in the system under the cab. I haven't found it yet. As my "garage" is my driveway and it colder than zippe doo I haven't been as patient as I should be. They say we're in for a heat wave today, maybe as high as 25. I'll try some more today
