  1. Talked truck manders today. The new cab has the cab mounted exhaust which I won't be able to use. My box sits to close to the cab. I'll have to fab some spacers for the rd air ride I think. Ill try to tack some pics tonight when I get done working. The cab I'm getting is from manders and is from the truck stock #4728 that was mentioned in an earlier post. They said they have no problem parting that truck because the frame was cracked in so many places. It is a 1990 but built to western specs. I thought that was very odd.
  2. Mine sits that that high. Local dealer has one for a western. Just have to see how my new cabs exhaust is mounted.
  3. Thank you everyone for all your help. I'm having them pull the cab for me. Just wish I had time to put it on right now instead of this winter. Now I just need to figure out if I'm going to paint it the same color or change it up a little.
  4. Talked to Mander's today. They only have the one good cab. But they have a really good price on it. It is a 90 with the galvanized panels and he said he would help me with any interior peicesi need includind AC. Just need to find air ride.
  5. I have an E6-300 and a live pto. Think I can keep the pto. I've always been nervous about running down the interstate at that high of rpms.
  6. I've changed the exhaust to the new bracket s which will let me run newer air ride if I want. I have a western so I have to keep my hood and raise the air ride mounts 3 in. I rebuilt this entire truck 7 years ago which is how I know the cab is shot. It has so much putty and welding done to it I don't even know where to start over.
  7. Looked at meanders site. That's not a bad idea. That might help with some of my other issues.
  8. Housby has a brand new never been on a truck complete with windows and doors for $4500. Problem is after all the extras and swapping I.swapping interiors, wiring and air it will be a lot more than that.
  9. How much would it cost? That superliner gives me some nice upgrades. I'd gain air ride, electric wipers, new style door latches, AC, and good interior panels. I'd really like to find a complete donor truck with a complete AC and 8 or more speed Mack transmission. I have a A 6 speed right now and can run 72@ 2300 rpm. I'd like to get down to 1900 rpm.
  10. Vander Haags sold the doors off the one they have.
  11. Drew has a brand new one but it is more than I can spend. Plus all the little parts to make it work would make it really expensive. I found the superliner cab complete for $900 so I was hoping it would work. It's in the St Louis Craigslist.
  12. Just wondering if a 1990 superliner cab will work on my 1979 rs686? I found a nice cab and know i'll have to change the driver side cowl. Hoping that's the only mod to be done.
  13. Superdog. I'm not to far from you. I'm in Boone. I would love to come see your collection sometime.

  16. Thanks! This is one of my projects for this winter. I've cleaned the air motor many times and it last a couple weeks then starts messing up again. I didn't even notice your steering wheel on the wrong side.. I thought you just posted negatives.
  17. Can you get more pictures? I've been wanting to do this for awhile.
  18. Does any one know if you can fix the fiber optic lights for the dash of an R model? I'm trying to get the little lights for the wipers, headlights, marker lights and so on. They look like they are lit by a fibre optic rope with a central 194 bulb. My bulb works, but I have no light at the ends of the rope.
  19. My box is even with the back tires. I wouldn't have it any other way.
