41 Chevy, the picture of an AC engine and radiator on a channel frame engine stand, is that an early 3 speed radiator tank top with modified radiators? I was thinking of doing something similar for one of my 3 speeders that need radiator coils (the round type). Where was this picture taken?

I have one of these that has never left my little town, as well as a parts truck. We have intended to restore ours for years. This one would sure look good in my yard along with the others. Don't know how to let my wife know. The engine in mine is a Hercules OX, and it is a "go getter" style body (express body). The radiator badge on mine is different, and I have a title. I think this one is a little later than 1921.

How much for the radiator tank top and sides/bottom?

Thank you for the reply. I am not familiar with the lo pro 22.5 tires. I am thinking of using an R model (or U model) to pull my 36' PJ gooseneck hydraulic dove tail trailer to take my "toys" to the shows. I was interested in using a vehicle that qualified as an antique, and since I am getting older, I wanted something that rode a little lower to the ground. Won't put that many miles on it, but figured it would last forever in that kind of situation. Several friends use 1 ton pickups, but I wanted a little more meat around me. Any thoughts, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

I have a couple of questions someone may know the answer to. Can I put an automatic transmission in an older R model Mack with a 237 or a 300 (with a single rear axle)? Also, is it possible to put adapters on the hubs so I could put smaller wheels and tires on so it would be lower to the ground? (Say 19.5 tires) Thanks, Steelman

Where are you located?

Had a perfect one just like that given to me this time last year. Made arrangements to tow it home the next day, went to get it, and the lady said she didn't know when I was coming, so she gave it to a scrapper that morning that showed up(less than 20 hours after I was given it), and he hauled it away. I called him, and he had already chopped it up. Bragged about making $400.00 on it. I could have cried.

That would make a very cool RV/ camper.

How much for both doors and enough of the door jambs so I could transplant to another vehicle. I am only 50 miles from you.

I have a nine foot (9') utility body in excellent shape I was going to use for the same purpose, but changed my mind. It would fit your truck (wheelbase, length, etc) if you are interested.

I have one that belonged to my father. Has a rebuilt engine (rebuilt in 1976, but not run on road since then except around the yard), but it runs good. Little rough. Single axle, gas. I believe it is a 1959. Had asked $1K obo. Can help load. Located in Va. 2 miles off I95 in an industrial park. Steelman 540.373.5983

I bid on it, but it was a little rich for my blood. I have bought complete AC's for just a little more than this went for. Steelman

With much help from fxfymn, I brought home my latest addition to the growing fleet, a 1918 World War 1 class B Liberty truck. Wood spoke, solid rubber tires, 4 cylinder, 424 cubic inch, 52 horsepower with a top speed of a blistering 14 mph. Hope to get started on the restoration soon. Plan to bring it to the ATHS show in York, Pa next May, finished or not. It joins my 1918 AC Mack Army truck, and the 1917/18 Mack built searchlight/antiaircraft trailer. Last picture is the gun trailer. Steelman

I have an aluminum AB cap casting that I am going to thread for my AB. It was a reproduction someone cast years ago that I bought. My AB is a 1924 with the new style radiator tank like yours. Would you want a copy of it made for your truck?

I have a number of used 9:00 x 20 tires I removed from some of our delivery trucks. They all have good tread, and are not bad to look at. We are located in Virginia if you would be interested. I am going to Macungie Thursday nite thru Sat. night. Carey Leitch

I don't know about some of the other states, but here in Virginia, front brakes have been the law since at least the early 60's when I first started driving a truck. Single axle or tandems, it didn't matter. I have seen some guys disconnect the front brakes with the belief that it caused the truck to jack knife in a panic stop, but that wasn't the reason. The State Police soon straightened them out.

I have a rust free contour cab B67 I would sell. I have removed the cab from the chassis, but all of it is available. Located in Virginia, 50 miles south of Washington, DC, right off of I95. Have cranes and forklifts for loading. I have sent you a PM. Steelman, caricoinc@verizon.net

I have been collecting trucks since the mid 60's, and going to shows since the 70's (Hershey, Carlisle, the early ATCA shows and ATHS shows). Around 1974, I took my late teens AC Mack to a AACA car show in my town (I was a member). It leaked every fluid it had in it, but I drove it there with my father trailing me in a modern (at the time) U model. Well, a lot of the car guys didn't like me bringing this to the show. About halfway thru the day, an elderly fellow came up to me asking all kinds of questions about the AC. Seems he drove one in France in WW1. So, I asked him if he would like to take a ride. His eyes lit up. We took a spin around the place, and when we got back to my parking place, his daughter, a nice middle aged lady, started apologizing to me for her dad bothering me. I told her no problem, I enjoyed it, and the fellow was in heaven. As she drug him away, he said he would be back later with pictures. A couple of hours later, his daughter brought him back with the pictures. We spent a delightful time looking at his memory book. I wouldn't trade that for anything.
Sure, the shows have changed, but some people don't. Truck shows, and antique engine and steam shows, are still the best events I have ever been to. And I am still meeting some of the nicest people I have ever met in my 6+ decades.

41 Chevy, sent you a PM. Talk to you next week

Another thought occured to me. I also have a AL 6 cylinder engine that has removable heads. Don't know for sure, but it looks just like the high hat engine heads. Carey

41 Chevy: I have a brand new high hat engine I bought at the Ballantine Brewery in 1974. I am probably never going to use it, as all of my trucks have jug head engines. Send me a message if you are interested. Carey

41 Chevy, can you tell me what the part number is for the AC springs you got? I have several AC's, and am always interested in parts sources. Thank you. Carey

The wheels on the two on the left look like AK wheels or AC4 (6 spoke), and the first one has a vacuum booster. The other truck (with 1932 on bumper) sure looks like one of the AP trucks built for the Boulder Dam project.
Not a Mack, but Cool as Hell !
