Dumb question time what is SAR?

Don't know actual torque rating, the guys i run with r pushing over 2000 hp , its a 4 disc centrifugal clutch higher you turn motor more pressure on discs you can adjust the weights or static pressure,

no chattering its made to be slipped

Have 4 at Petes at work don't like to drive or work on them, have to kill the door to get it to close right.

I think you allready have work truck with class

5800 for clutch and flywheel

Is that the Kenworth with the Mack v8 in it? I've heard about that truck. Though someone was pulling my leg!

Did they put it under the cab?

I liked my Ford PSD because it sounded like a baby E9.

There are lots of V8 motors making plenty of power. Personally I think it was all in the packaging and weight of the V8 compared to I6 motor. In trucking, weight is everything and if you can do the job with a lighter motor, then so be it. Bigger is always better, but sometimes it is just not practical. If everyone wanted one, they'd still be making them here.

What is the weight difference between an E9 and the I6?

E9 is 2800 Cat 3406 is 3000 dont know about Mack Inline

I know unrelated to post title , when i was running my E9 on the road and it was tuned right (with all stock parts)only truck that even came close to keeping up with me on a hill was a 600 cat .

I never came across any KT trucks that i know of. I know that now that you can make the others run with it that is if you want to do head gaskets every 100,000 or so.

Never worked on the older 8s and very little on Mack Inlines, Sooner work on E9 then a cat any day.

That's good to know Albert. S480 has T6 flange and I can get a blanket for it for $80. S480 is only 1k

John Deere was only about $1200 when i got mine then they got wise to why they were selling so many thats what i was told

Hole in my truck was framed with lite C channel steel welded to body.Sleeper Boot screwed to that. Easier to cut existing interior panels smaller to fit than make new ones IMO.

Maybe you should test fit on truck first to see best option.

Had a 36 able ( V style entry) on my truck when i got it , had an oops and put 60 Can Am on with Square entry made hole in cab match sleeper.

For me steel is easier to work with then Aluminum.

John Deere turbo is made buy Borg Warner . Same turbo ( I believe) John Deere double the price

Did you check back of switch? one side marker lights other side head lights.

In the off brands at work the light does not come on when u flip the switch, only when you turn or spin a little then axle is locked.

Turn switch off the light stays on until you drive strait for a little.

Does Mack work same way?

My timing is between 35-39 still playing with it, was always told not to go more then 1 degree over stock if working truck pulling a trailer with long hard pulls.

Guy around here had his advanced 3 degrees on working truck and eventually cracked all the heads.

You are right bigger turbo more top end.Made big difference when i went from 3.6 to 3.9 .

If i remember correctly that is a Trevits motor , so it is probably pieced together with different parts. If you would pull inj they probable ground the numbers off so no one can tell what they used.

He was a Mack engineer that worked with Curt Price from antrim's and JR Collins to develop high performance parts.

I'm also turbo stupid so don't worry u are not alone. But this is how u learn.

How does it run with air research turbo?

JohnDeere turbo make them as snappy as car.

Since you guys are talking turbos; mine was replaced shortly before I bought it.... It says AirResearch M12.... Is that a good thing?

Had 700 hp with mine with all stock parts easily. Then went to Antrims industrial type inj and BorgWarner (JohnDeere) turbo. That was a good play and work combo.

If you want to work the truck you might want to stay with Turbo you have. ant bigger and you will have to keep wound up to keep egt down.

I'm govn to 4000, Frances has two different size crossover tubes i have the smaller one now.

I have a valve on mine to lock back brakes so i can ride clutch to get boost up before i leave line. Ran Lipe clutch for years doing that.

Now i have 4 disk crower clutch.

Used to drive old r model that had second stick for low range used to shift that all the time on the go, but i guess thats a little different.

You would probably want to start in 11th or 12th. What rpm u turning now and what injs u got?

3.9 turbo has titanium comp wheel makes it a Little harder to spool starts to really pull about 2000 rpm , wont do any thing till i get 25 to 30 psi boost.

with the headers actually have lower boost then with stock manifolds , i think because they flow better. When pulling i get about 60 psi

Don,t know what i will have with 4.1 but i need more air have plenty of fuel.
