Thats what i thought havent worked on one of thous yet.
Think you need a timing light to find #1 port closing . There is a plug some where on pump where there is a little hump on cam to indicate port closing.

Inline or v pump ?

Not to hijack the thread (although its related). My Super with E9 has an engine brake.... are they controlled through the governor housing only? Or did they also come with a switch on the clutch pedal?
Yes switch on clutch pedal

no expert but i think it is 6 speed it says to only use low in in first gear
-
Nope. We're looking for a used aluminum 10' dump body for it. Besides, it's a lot easier to clean and work on if the body's off.
Just saw one to day down the road from me at Martins Paving

Is that the Kenworth with the Mack v8 in it? I've heard about that truck. Though someone was pulling my leg!
Did they put it under the cab?

I liked my Ford PSD because it sounded like a baby E9.
There are lots of V8 motors making plenty of power. Personally I think it was all in the packaging and weight of the V8 compared to I6 motor. In trucking, weight is everything and if you can do the job with a lighter motor, then so be it. Bigger is always better, but sometimes it is just not practical. If everyone wanted one, they'd still be making them here.
What is the weight difference between an E9 and the I6?
E9 is 2800 Cat 3406 is 3000 dont know about Mack Inline
