If your truck has a manual priming pump on the transfer pump (located on the side of the injector pump), pump the plunger now until resistance is felt when pumping, indicating that fuel is being pumped thru the filters and inj. pump.
Herb, what is the best way to prime an E7 without a manual priming pump?
-
Ok. Thanks again.
-
Thanks for the quick answer Herb. Very helpful! Do you by any chance know the filter number off the top of your head? Any filter brand will do, I can cross reference it to what I will be getting. Thanks again!
-
Probably a dumb question, but on this E7 is the cartridge next to the spin on oil filters also a replaceable filter?

Take a look at this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sgAx1RecAg
It just left me shaking my head saying WTF.

I doubt they would have put a 3408 against a 16 speed Spicer from the factory, those transmissions were only a single countershaft design, and had trouble staying together even behind a 318 Detroit. That was the clue that made me think it must have been one of those little "throwaway" 3208 Cats.
You are probably right then. The 16 speed Spicer is kind of before my time, so I didn't realize it was a single countershaft transmission.

If he traded an Autocar with a 220 Cummins for a truck with a 3208 Cat, I'll bet he was sorry he ever did that!!!!
.
Hopefully it was a 3408.

Here is one of the YouTube videos that might be helpful.

Rob, take a look over at The Diesel Garage. There are quite a few people over there with 6.7s that could probably answer any question you might have.

Very Very nice!

Awsome looking truck.
Looks great, but I don't even want to know the price tag!

sbrem,
I am sorry to be negative on this truck but we are not looking at a pickup truck that someone is trying to keep together
for work.
This is a commercial vehicle, regulated by the federal government.
The D.O.T would have Field day with this truck.
You don't need to be sorry about anything. The truck definitely would need a lot of work to be put on the road, all I was saying is that the hood looked a bit better in person then in the pictures. It would be a project truck for sure.
-
The dealer with that truck is right in my area, so I have seen it before. The hood doesn't look all that bad in person. It definitely doesn't look quite right, but its not that terrible. If anyone ever wants me to take a look at a truck from that dealer( Global Truck Traders), let me know and I'd be happy to take a look for you.

Would anyone be able to identify the owner of this old dog....saw this picture on someones blog on the net
Thanks alot
Randy
I have seen it at a couple shows but am not sure of the owners name.

Take a look at this picture. The green one has the contour cab and the blue one has the regular cab
-
What part of Vermont are you from? I'm in Guilford (southeast corner of the state)
-
They look good to me. I would definitely use them and most likely will get some because they are the only badges that my B-61 is lacking.
-
hey steve. looks like the B-70 has a playmate. good for you.
Yup. Its a '65 B-61. Very close to being roadworthy. Just a few odds and ends to do and it should be good to go.

There is a guy a few miles south of here that has a GMC Astro 1/2 daycab. This thing looks like a morphadite but is neat being so different. It has a mounted Bucyrus-Erie crane mounted on the back. The "stick" rests to the right of the 1/2 cab in the transport position.
Rob
Get a picture of it if you ever get a chance. Sounds interesting.

found this neat looking picture while browsing Hank's truck pictures the other day. Smith's Transfer out of Staunton,Va. had many of these day cab F-models, along with Overnite, UPS, and many more carriers but nowadays it looks really odd!
It sure does look odd seeing a cab that small. Kind of cool looking, but definitely different.

dgiomack was the one who originally asked.
If anyone is interested I found dgiomack's thread right here

Thanks for the help guys. I knew someone would know what it was.

Can anyone tell me exactly what this is and what it does?
Its got 2 air lines going to it. One Tees off the line going to the right rear brake chamber right after the quick release valve and the other line goes to the air tank. The part number on it is Wagner AE-21882. This is on my '65 B-61. My B-70 does not have one. Thanks.
