Too bad about the cab...that would be a cool truck.

Somebody needs to put this in a Superliner.

That's a really nice rig! I used to stay in Beckley when I would go white water rafting on the New. We would go in the river in Thurmond.
I was in Thurmond last month...beautiful country. If you drive up the hill to the old town you'd better be ready for steep hills and narrow roads!

The truck is a '79 but it's a little like flstf93's Heinz 57...it's got some replacement parts on it. The rims are NOS GM 10" x 16.5"; they're hard to find tires for but I got a really good deal on them.

I really like that truck!

The f looks like it has great potential
Yeah, somebody needs to save that...Westerns are cool trucks.

If you can get it to a good Mack shop or someplace with a chassis dyno they may be able to figure it out. I worked in a Cat dyno shop and we could watch what was going on when you put a load on the motor...made diagnostics better.

A good idea to run a multi-functional fuel additive all the time (Power Service, Stanadyne, etc.). Also check for water bottom and drain water from tank. Keep the tank full if sitting for extended periods to minimize condensation.
I used to have a problem with condensation but now I eat more fiber and drink more water.

Pictures! We want pictures.

if you have the round tanks is there a drain in the center of it? either way drain the fuel and pull the plugs flush it out with a pressure washer and dawn dish soap then set in the sun with plugs out to dry, I have done a couple tanks like this only takes a couple hours to dry then I flush a gallon of fuel through it.
If you take it off the truck and take it some where they do the same thing, I seen one place has like heated blower that thy hook up to the inlet and set the tank so it drains to the low plug and after 1/2 hour to 40 minutes the say the tank is ready.
I also did the wash & dry to my tank, clean as a whistle and no junk in filters now.

Its okay to rev it up once or twice but over and over and over again is annoying. And i can see why since they're in a residential area at a park. On the road more noise the better.
Amen to that advice, SDog. My sediments exactly.

Yeah, and they had a lot of expensive parts on them. We used to have to replace the threaded pins, wood bushings, and shackles from time to time.

Some Macks and a Brockway that pulled last night at the Hartford Fair in Croton, Ohio. The "Brockasaurus" won the class; he has that thing running like a song. The Big Mack Attack popped something on the motor and blew his hood off--it almost made me cry since the truck looked so nice beforehand. The two R models are driven by Kendra and Sondra Rodgers and they do a wonderful job but they run Mack engines which are much smaller than the Cummins KT1150's which most of the other trucks run. They still beat them sometimes!

That F is sweet! It does have center point...I don't like the look, but they do stay straight on the road better.

Yes, my H has 10:00-20 (tube type) radials on it.

I still have that 33 rpm record!! It's clear flexible plastic...all scratchy now cause when I was a kid I listened to it over and over. I think I got it from Commercial Carrier Journal magazine.

Ours was called Columbus Brockway Sales & Service. Earl's was a Diamond Reo dealer.

Those big twin pipes look great! I'll bet the sound was pretty unique from that turbine.

That is one beautiful truck. My dad had an Astro in the 70's, I prefered the Macks but I did like the tilt wheel and panoramic view from the driver's seat in the Astro.

And I thought a T600 was ugly.
