When i was a kid kerosene was good for ever thing. A spoon full of it and sugar or just straight kerosene was the order for the kids and dogs and even the chickens.

I really like his stories, they really kept me pre-occupied while i was workin security. I'll see what I can do for the fellar, and I encourage everybody to read his stories. Most of you fellow truckers have had the same experiences yourselves, but he has some good stories.
Amen brother! (Bulldogman)
He might hate me now, he didn't tell me to say anything about this , and I certainly don't know that he wanted his address known, but I know from personal experience what a difference some extra money can make at a time like this- that's why I always go to the annual benefit in Toga, Va.
I did not tell him anything about posting anything anywhere either-it'll be a surprise ...or maybe a shock.

I wish her a speedy recovery and yes I have her and Mr. Weatherstone in my prayers. Keep us posted to this thread.

Thanks Mike

Bill also said she had been diagnosed with early stages of another serious disease...I sorta don't feel right saying this. He probably wouldn't want me to-
but I feel we should step up, because of my respect and admiration for the man. They do have free health care in Canada, but he's been taking her back and forth from Elliot Lake to Sudbury to the hospital for some time now. I suspected something wasn't right, but I didn't want to come right out and ask.
I'm just thinking we could help, if only a little-there's over 3,000 members here! I know times are tight, they are for me, but if anyone wanted to send him anything to help cover his expenses, or just a card or letter, it would be great. His address is
William Weatherstone
408-100 Warsaw Place
Elliot Lake
Ontario P5A 2S8
Canada
thanks

My prayers are with him and his family also.
Thank you.

I just got an e-mail from William Weatherstone, the greatest truck driver ever in my opinion. Just read his stories about trucking all over Canada and the U.S. in a B-model Mack and you'll see why. We used to talk on Skype every weekend, but I hadn't heard from him lately. He said his wife Murt had had a mild heart attack and was still in intensive care in the hospital...
maybe everbody could put them in their prayers. He's also a member on this site.
Here's his website-

I'm just wondering if your tick problem stems from too much moisture in the ground? We here are getting way too much rain. I'm afraid that when the rain is over, it will be so HOT that we'll jump right into summer HUMIDITY big time.
By the way, that garden looks like a piece of art, saying a good job. I'd like to have one but with the garage project going on I have little time for it now. The inspector was out yesterday morning while I was at work. He called me and said a few tree roots needed to be cut out, other than that it was ready for pouring the footing. Today's project while it's raining will be to fix the bathroom tub. It's stopped up and won't drain fast. By looking at the pipes undr the tub, looks like someone put four traps in and it does not need but one good trap with a cleanout. To get to the pipes, i'll have to take down a 4x8 sheet of sheetrock from the basement ceiling to get to the pipes.
Havin Too Much Fun

Thanks Mike, I don't know, but I got 2 more off me today. Went to Wal-Mart and got a bag of Ortho lawn treatment stuff that's supposed to kill ticks and spread that a little while ago, so we'll see.
And for the garden- I must say, it's one of the best looking ones i've ever had...so far anyway.

OK, here's the boat. I suppose Mike will want a knuckleboom mounted on the roof of the camper now to load and unload the boat.

Are them all at one spot? Looks like a goldmine to me ! Terry
yep, most are in the same place, but I did add a few more just from pictures I had saved. The 860 GMC was taken the same day, but not at the same place. The owner of them has a trucking co. too, and he's the regional Vice President for Va. and W.V. of the ATHS.

by the way,I finally got most of the rest of the pictures on webshots...

TRTX72 or 720.
It was a triplex, but the lo lo was not used in the on road shifting sequence, so on the road you shifted it like a duplex, but yet you had the lo lo for off road if needed.
oh
So in this particular trans. if you shifted it like A duplex you'd have underdrive and direct, as opposed to the more common direct and overdrive ,eh?

It took me hours and hours to design and draw up these different versions of the Robmobile camper-well,arrright then, minutes, it took lots of minutes to draw all this crap and Rob doesn't even make a witty or funny response...as of now i'm officially retired from the automotive design bidness-done-finished-through!..and I was just trying to help.

Tom,
We used kerosene around our cuffs when we would work in tall grasses, we did not smoke or drink but we had no ticks or chiggers on us. We also used kerosene on our hands to clean the grease off after we worked on a vehicle. If you got cut, it was more gentle on the open wound.
mike
I use deep woods "Off", but this is ridiculous-I've mowed the grass the last 3 weekends in a row, and there's still lots of ticks-not in the weeds or bushes, but I mean just walking around in the back yard. Caught 2 just now crawling up my arm. If it ain't one thing it's something else. Think i'd rather battle the rabbits-hate ticks!
-
I'd have to drink a lot of beer to pee all over the back yard, then it would be time to start over.
Haven't had any trouble with bugs in the garden yet, just lots of ticks-everytime I go outside I get A tick or 2 crawling on me. We used that diazanon before and it got rid of 'em-sprinkle that on the ground and wet it and you couldn't find a tick! Works great- I guess that's why you can't get it anymore.

Jimbo,
You might try Gulfway Insurers in Bayonet Point, Florida phone # (800) 940-5010 go to their web-site www.racensur.com
Best Regards
mike
That's where I have the mixer insured, and I think it's under $400 a year.

Tom,
What about some Fire Protection Insurance with that rig, since the chimney is so close to the fuel tankeerrrrr. And what about the Pit Crew that goes along with the parts truck and trailer to haul the racecar on and also a boat, ya got to have a boat to go fishing. He might fall upon hard times and need to revert to servival tactics.
mike
Geez, are you ever satisfied?..good point on the chimney though- i'll move the fireplace to the front, put the reefer in back, and lengthen the tongue on the fuel trailer. I was trying to keep the overall length as short as possible, so it'll be legal on rt. 6 in Nelson co. That's a design flaw on my part. And a boat will fit on top of the fuel trailer. As far as the other stuff, he's on his own.
-
You asked for it, so here it is (I have so little to do!)- the super duper deluxe model Robmobile, with all the previous features plus a ThermoKing reefer unit for AC, and an extra large fuel capacity- includes the special "run out of fuel insurance" wrecker just in case he runs out of fuel anyway.

='Rob' post='35049' date='May 10 2009, 09:51 PM']...I also thought about making this truck a camper with a winch on and off unit to go to shows, basically an RV.
Rob
I might have what you need for that plan too-easy conversion. Here's a before and after of this nice Robmobile camper...and the super deluxe model, with twice pipes, satellite TV, CB, and a bigger door with a genuine cinder block step, and raccoon tail tied to the rear bumper.

I just saw a USED 15 1/2 foot steel body in the truck trader, and they wanted $5900 for it, I think it was. The sides looked higher than 36'' though.
I have a 1950 Chevrolet single axle dump with an excellent rock body on it. I'll sell the body for only $1500
, but you're probably looking for something a little bigger-this body is about 3 1/4 inches long
I'll even sell the whole truck for $1500.05
Kinda hate to sell it, it's the only dump I got, but for that price I would let it go. No, I found another one. I have a '60 Chevrolet with the same body, so i'll keep the '50 and sell the '60 even cheaper.
these bodys will hold a half cup of dirt easily.

Rob, here is the link to Rowe Truck:
http://www.rowetruck.com/index.php?option=...2&Itemid=47
I've set up 4 of their dump boxes on trucks so far, that one of my own (pictured), and 3 for other people.
They're dam reasonable on price, IIRC that one of mine was around $5200.00 complete with controls, hydraulics, PTO, cab shield, hinge angle, etc., and they shipped it up here right to my door for around $300.00 shipping charge.
That was in 2001, just before 9/11, so I'm sure they have increased since then, but all things being relative, I'm sure they're still reasonable.
