  1. I went to a good antique truck, tractor, car, and equipment show in Martinsburg, Pa. today. They probably had a lot more stuff come in after I left, I cut out early because I was a long ways from home, about 6 hours. Here's some pictures I took while I was there- A B-71 H-63 B-67 Superliner and more-
  2. Looks a lot like the bus I rode to school, old bus no. 8- this went for $500. Yeah, a lot of it looks pretty rough, but at the prices it went for if you found usable parts you'd make out all right. The roll-back looks pretty good, and the Fleetstar for $275-wow!
  3. Anybody hear about this? I saw a post about it on the ATHS Facebook page. Apparently the auction was yesterday or the day before. Looks like everything sold really low, here's some examples- This White sold for $550, with trailer. IH,$400 IH Fleetstar, $275 $350. That's what it said, $350.00 This one sold for $1,000. This one brought $2,000.
  4. I didn't even notice it at first, so I went back to take a look- Holy mackerel!
  5. Happy birthday!
  6. I'm gonna try that next time, instead of 2 packs of hamburger i'll just use one and add a pack of Italian sausage.
  7. It was delicious, but a little dry. I used the leanest ground beast, like I usually do for meatloaf, but cooking it on the grill I probably should have used a fattier blend, or added some tomato sauce or something to the mixture.
  8. Ditto!
  9. Glad you asked- I tried a smoked meatloaf, cooked on the grill. I made a regular meatloaf, and applied some bacon to it- everybody likes bacon! About half way through the cooking process- I think it's done, probing 160 in the middle. The finished product- good googly moogly!
  10. The Maine shooting... just my opinion, I try not to get into religion or politics too much here- I try to keep it light, with "Pictures of the Week" and Winfall Wimmens"- but we, as a nation- again, just my own opinion- are on the fast track to hell. No religion in schools, no religion at the court house, abortion, gay marriage, and on and on...if you do believe in the Bible, like I do, as it says in the old testament, God no longer blessed those nations who turned away from him. And that's where I feel we are now. My opinion, it's time to make your peace with the Lord, because God will turn his back on this nation, and it won't be long coming.
  11. No, no, no...say it ain't so!
  12. Loaded at Gerdau-Ameristeel in Petersburg, Va.
  13. This is the one I was thinking of.
  14. you're welcome. I would have interviewed the pedestrians, but the light turned green so I had to go.
  15. True that Vlad.

  17. Yep, me too. We used to run 34 to 35, 23 to Columbus, then 33 and 30 to Chicago. That was before they invented the AA Highway. The truck stop at Pliny had the best chef's salad, the Pliny Burgers weren't bad either, and we also stopped at the Schoolhouse or the Highway Diner in Chillicothe a lot. Now I usually take the AA Highway up to Cincinnati and 74 to Indianapolis. I didn't go that way Tuesday because I needed a permit for a 60' load in Ky.
  18. Saw a car on fire in Dayton. 6 minutes to route 35?..that didn't happen! I thought it would be burned to a crisp- that'll buff out pretty easy. This is where I went through the torrential downpour the day before... Saw this big Mack truck coming from the truck stop east of Jackson. Saw this big Mack truck on the way to Moneta to pick up lumber. Power plant in Mt. Storm off in the distance. Keyser, W.V. An elephant- A dog- A girl in a car. A big Mack truck on rt.19 in W.V. Some pedestrians in Pittsburgh.
  19. Saw a wasp in here this morning flying around the light over the stove. I didn't bother with it, then I went to make another cup of coffee and saw a couple more. Then I got stung twice, on the hand and on the back of my arm- and it was on like donkey kong then (Bulldog Man, 2012). I killed about 8 of them...haven't seen any since. In case you were wondering what the inside of a mixer drum looked like, here you go- This one was on the ground at S.B.Cox's in Richmond. The mixer is over in that shed, where they were sandblasting it. Must be fixin' to paint it,eh? Load of 55 and 60 foot beams I took to Indianapolis. The Silver Memorial Bridge, rt.35. It replaced the Silver Bridge, which collapsed in 1967. Looking upstream from the bridge, towards where the old bridge collapsed. I ran through the hardest rain I have ever seen between Jackson and Chillicothe, Ohio. I was only running about 25-30 mph, all the cars were on the shoulder. It had stopped raining by the time I got to Chillicothe, but it must have been the same storm that dumped all this water just west of Chillicothe- Picked up these big rolls of used conveyor belt in Indianapolis and took it to Glade Spring, Va. They should have laid it down- they were 8 feets tall, only about 32'' wide, making them a little top-heavy.
  20. Exactly what I was thinking!
  21. I wish i'd bought the one my brother had now. He had...probably a 90-something model F150, 4 wheel drive, extended cab, 302 I think, looked good, and I know it was well taken care of. He mentioned one time when I was down there that he was going to sell it because he just didn't need it, he had just bought a Jeep. I said "whatcha gonna ask for it?" and he said "I'll take $2500 for it." I said jokingly "you've done worn it out anyway" and he said "I'd take off for California in it right now and wouldn't worry about a thing." I should have written him a check then. I got to thinking about it and said "I should buy that truck, the Ranger is so small and under-powered sometimes, and 4 wheel drive would be nice since they never plow the road over here when it snows..." So I called, too late, he'd already sold it. I drive by car lots now and see all these pickups with 30 to 40 thousand dollar prices on the windshield and I just can't see it. You can buy a home and a little bit of land for that kind of money.
  22. Indeed, thank you- it would take me about 4 hours to type that! Some fine looking trucks there too!
  23. This picture has been all over facebook lately. Somebody photo-chopped a horse mounting the female on one of them. I didn't do it, but I would have if i'd thought of it first, and I probably would have used a donkey instead of a horse.
