My first Mack was a new 86 R-model, with a 250hp, twin sticks and a 28" roll off body for equipment. My second Mack was a DM roll off truck for BFI. Back then never thought to get pictures of the trucks.

Have you thought of sending it out and having it chromed, just a thought.

Looks great!Any cracks In the frame when you got it?Looks like she has some rust, will she be worked again?
No cracks in the frame, there was some rust underneath all the brackets, push bar and 5th wheel. The area between the frame rails had some so before it went to painter I took a whiz wheel and ran it along the seems then took a big grinder and ran that down the seem and cut out alot ot the scale. It is not perfect like our B-61 is, but that truck was dismanteled all the way to the ground. For a 26 year old New England truck that worked every day till August 2012 its in good shape. The days of work are all done for this truck I bought it just to show and move the B-61 around to shows.

Well got the truck back from the paint shop in December and the last two weekends have started to put the parts back on the truck. Have to say I do like the red frame and fuel tanks the more I see it done and with it out in the sun this week. This weekends plans are to re-attach the brackets for the rear fenders( that I went to the adult truck toy store to buy,,Berubes,,) picked up a set of one piece corregated stainless fenders and some lights for them. Here is what we have done so far, Headboard, 5th wheel plate and rear push plate all back on.

I cant say if the center tow pin style (like on Jackb61sx truck) was only on 713's but most I have seen were optioned with that style. I have seen the standard stamped bumper on 713's too so that wasnt exclusive to the 613;s.
My truck is a 753 and most i have ever seen are the flat close to frame ones or the angled like the one on mine around here. Have not seen a bumper like the one pictured above it looks nice on that truck and also very nice looking Superliner!
-
jackb61sx has that style on his. Maybe he has the info on what you need. He just redid his 'liner. Paul
I know that truck I think. If you need pics let me know what you need, mine does have the filler piece back of the bumper its diamond plate aluminum to cover the bumper bracket.

If its that pitted after polishing I would look to have it redone. I am looking to do the same with my turn signals, can't get crome ones so plan to send them out and have rechromed.

Plan on going, putting truck back together now so should be done by spring.

I have enjoyed the site and the comments by other members to my postings. I belong to a couple of other sites other than this and they are nice but I spend most of my time on here and honestly everyone being Mack guys appreciate the varius trucks guys have on here including non Mack brands.

Curious does the Jones hood for the Superliner II come all pre-drilled for all the hood hardware and emblems?
-
Your doing a very detailed restoration, it looks very nice. All the work will be worth it, was for us on our B-61

The Future of Truck Shows

I have been around trucks all my life by way of my father, just the other day I went to a local chapter meeting with him for the first time and enjoyed it, very nice people all with stories of their trucks or other peoples trucks. I have to say around here I have noticed an increase in participation at the shows, more tucks are at them, they seem to even come from further away and the public participation is there. Alot are people who are older and may have driven similar trucks or just plain remember them as kids, they are always nice to talk with and listen to. There are more trucks going to private collectors who may show them only at there own place. Around here I have the ability to take the trucks to four shows a summer that is the B-61 now with the other truck we can go father out and trailer the B-61 and I am fortunate that my daughters like the shows, they are in there 20's and like the trucks and want them kept in the family so hopefully they will.
