Please do,I will check with Watts before I do anything.I would like to keep the money spent in the Mack family if possibly. Thanks Mike Durkin
Here are some pics of the wiring on the firewall and under the hood, also took a picture of the diagram that came with the harness, very easy to follow and well labeled.

Well I spent the day stripping the backside of the cab so a fellow can make me a panal to weld in on the bottom middle of the back of the cab.It will only have to be about 2"x 3',it right where the back meet the floor.I had to use 40 grit sand paper to cut through the 5 layers of paint.Next I tried the new mig welder I brought acouple of weeks ago.Used it to weld up some cracks in the floor, and started to weld up some of the other cracks and holes in the floor panals.Never used a mig before but once I got going it seemed to work great. The final chore of the day was to remove the dash.Once I got the dash away from the rest of the big panal the wires behind was mess.I think what I'm going to do is just ripe out all of the wire harness and just make my own.Would like some feedback from anyone that has done this before. Will get some pictures on Sunday and post them up.One last thing does anyone know what thickness the floor is?It looks like something close to 16 gauge.
When we did our B61sx the wiring was shot probably like yours and felt it would be safer to replace. We thought of doing it ourselves but after looking at the time involved and researching a new one we opted to have it made up by Watts Mack, they have a person who makes them up, all labeled and with a diagram. It was done very well easy to put back in and looks neat and clean in the truck. Can get you pic of the harness installed if you want.

Call up to Global in NH and see if he may have a set he took off a truck,,,

Just put 2 new Gladiator tires on the front of my Superliner, they ran me 850 for the two of them. Even thought the truck is for show now spent the money, plus it would have failed saftey inspection if caps.

To be honest with you I put those on the truck at least 10 years ago and I can't remember who made them. I got them from a truck parts shop I deal with in Windsor and they were hard to find then. There is'nt a lot of aftermarket add ons you can get for an R model or a Superliner. We made a set for my Dad's truck. Just used 16 gauge mirror fnish stainless cut them out to shape and put a slight bend at the bottom. That's probably what you might have to do get some from a sheetmetal shop and have them cut and bend it, should'nt cost too much or take too long to punch out a pair. You might try Raney's truck parts in Florida. They're about the only ones I've seen that can get much stainless for Rmodels. You could also try Dieter's they might have something too. You're right about them reducing stone chips. they do work, plus they help make the look of the truck.
Thanks for the info,,,,They do look nice on your truck, going to probably do as you suggested have them made to fit,,,,Do that when I get frame painted in April.

Truck looks nice, question for you the stainless pieces under headlights where did you get those, looking for them for my truck to reduce the road chips.

what did you find out? they were pluged off?
Well finaly got to work on truck today in the shop, no 30" of snow to move. I powerwashed all underneath the truck to remove all the crap and we where able to follow the line up to the new tredle valve that was added prior to my purchase. Removed the line to the front, released maxis and applied brakes and had air going to front valve, so we remoed the line at the bumper and attached again at tredle and applied brake and sure enough had air through hose to that valve, connected hose back up there and front brakes now work. We figure that something either came out of tredle valve or had something in the line. But thanks for advise and asking.....Jack

At the golf course I was having trouble with neighborhood kids drinking and fooling around out on the course. We got tired of the vandelism and talked to parents who said not my child out there. So we got those cameras hunters use to see what is in the area at night or day for hunting. Well we got 3 of them at Bass store put them out on the tree's where they would not be noticed and that weekend we had issues with kids, brought camaras in and down loaded pictures to computer and called the police. Boy where those parents shocked to see little timmy drinking on the course in the dark, The kids had no idea they where having pictures taken and they where crisp and clean. We spent 500 for 3 cameras and they worked for our situation with no power near by.

Turning 50 this spring I enjoy seeing younger people have a like for these old classics. I rember well to this day riding with my father as he drove his R700 twin stick up the Tobin bridge with a load of oil, heading out to a mill in western Ma. Its things like this, that that I am sure we all share and has lead to a younger group wanting to drive or restore these older trucks. For myself I have only daughters, but they love their grandfathers B-61 and go to the shows, they love to go out in the truck and want to see the truck kept in the family. My love of Mack trucks has lead me to purchase my own truck, my Superliner and growing up I was always impressed by the size and looks of that style truck. For those who enjoy, collect or restore these trucks you are preserving a piece of time, that to alot of people bring back memories of a bygone period. It always amazes me to be at a show with the B-61 and have people come up to my father and smile as they talk to him about the truck and remember an era gone by. My father is 71 and I enjoy seeing what he gets out of peoples reaction to his truck and the reaction I see from my daughters to that truck. Preserving these classic trucks Mack made through all the years speaks to durability of the trucks and the memories they invoke in people and to a new younger generation of enthusiests the torch is being passed to you to preserve these trucks.
