  1. Got the plant's 3/4 impact...a lot of heat and some serious impact action got them both!

The whole reason for this was that the exhaust bracket was leaning out...instead of bending I took the thing off to find out why and found that the rust spreading was the culprit!

At least now I KNOW why they stopped using the pass side fuel tank! Bracket broken, repaired, broken again...I guess they just figured it would be okay as long as they kept it empty!

I will say Mack is persistent with their design,,,,,They still use that spacer for the exhaust bracket on the CL's For all the Salt to sit.

Also check for any cracks on the exhaust bracket,,,,They lose their tensile strength over the years and shake allot

  2. I hate when they have us line the truck next another so they could keep the milling machine going. Milling all over the side of the truck

We don't need to worry about the operator............But the truck next to you to stay in their lane,, dodging mirrors

  3. Dale is one of the best at v8's and like Mack Dr. Jr said sometimes you have to stay on him. He was putting one of his v8s in a Canadian CL when I was there this early summer..

He is great at getting you what or need ,,,,,,It will be in the mail before you get off the phone

But getting your core credit will take months,,,,,,,Yes you have to stay on him,, and you will get to know Stella better from the many reminders

  4. No, those are Mack "CR" trolley buses (CR-3S), not the 6-CQ-4S Mack hybrid bus.

The Mack CR trolley bus was an immensely popular product for Mack Trucks. Some major users were Baltimore, Wilkes-Barre, Cincinnatti, Toledo, Wilmington, Kansas City, Portland and Winnipeg, Canada. (I'll post photographs if/when BMT allows me to post pictures again)

Trolley buses were powered by overhead power lines like a street car. They remain very popular today overseas because they are low maintenance, zero emissions vehicles.

    Understood,,,,,,,,,,It was worth a shot

  5. Neat lil tractor. Must have something big under the hood? I see lots of little pusher fans in front of the radiator. Plus the added cooling hole in the top of the bumper.

I like the interior layout with the console and the flamed door panels. Like the frenched in lights in the rear frame too!

Seen a picture of this a few years ago it has or had a E6 4 valve with jake or maybe an E7

They ran the turbo pipe like the 237 (no cooler)

  6. Jim Rayjoe and I worked together over 25 years. We met at the Landfill in Kearny,Newark NJ. and worked there a few years then down to Atlantic City, Philly,Harrisburg. WE went to Florida to work the tri-axles about 15 years in the winter.Sometimes we made a few bucks but other times we lost our A$$. Quite the adventure we had.As you knew him he was one of a kind.Did you drive the R-700 for J+R. ? As for stories its like Vegas when you work out of town it stays out of town. LOL. Joe D.

yes I use to fill in for big Joe (hookman) Mihalka's driver,,,,,some times

Ray spoke of the good times with the Army Corps on disaster project years ago when money was direct not threw subcontractors like today

  7. A good friend of mine passed away 3 weeks ago,he had a R-700 3406-400 HP Cat 8LL 44 rears doubleframe and 17' aluminum body. Exporters bought it and now on its way to the other side.No way of saving them all. Joe D.

Yes Joe we lost another Mack nut (Ray Joe Neare) 50 plus years in dump trucking ,,He had stories

Ran his Oakville Canada Mack in the late 80's,, before Ray bought it,, and with that Canadian spread it rode smooth compared to the U.S 54" camelback I had

  8. whats up with the site or is it my computer??? everything is blacked out with gray and silver and hard to read and the menu, my name, gallery and everything is all screwed up

Click on the compatibility view button ,,,,,Its the button in the address bar up top that looks like a torn paper

  9. the e9-500 I got came from a 1995 ch series, when pulling the eng. I found a 1/4 air line elbowed into a tee for the 3/8 line that supplys manifold air to the injection pump. the 1/4 line ran to a skinner valve mounted on the cab hood support the valve has a short line on the other port open to atmospheric pressure. and a 2 wire plug ,I cant figure out w.t.f. this is 4 its not big enough to dump manifold pressure in any volume [polish waste gate] any help please!!!! it appeared to be a factory install, never seen a factory puffer valve by-pass .

The 1/4" line was for the shutters,,,,Works off intake pressure as the boost rises the shutter open

Electrical plug is for water temp keeps shutters closed until temp comes up or when temp drops under no load condition in cold weather

As you may know a E9 is hard to keep up to temp in the cold

  11. Looks like just a visor and gloves. That said, natural gas fueling isn't ready for mass market- It's only suited for companies willing to invest in six figure fueling facilities, employee training, and scrapping the truck at the end of it's life.

Hello GG,,,FR's are not mandated for fueling LNG but if -160 degrees Fahrenheit hits polyester or skin it does damage

CNG is here at the pumps now for $1,99 but its 40 miles away and the government is kicking the can with

any infer-structure (stations) All the car makers are ready now,,,But not enough infer-structure

  12. Mack Trucks (err Volvo) showed off an LNG-powered Mack Pinnacle...........The tractor was built for UPS.........UPS has since placed an order for 122 additional units...........The tractor is equipped with a Cummins Westport ISX12 G engine.
Apparently UPS didn't like the Volvo D13 LNG.

Just look at the latest Bulldog Magazine ,,,,,,,How in the hell are you going to sell a LNG powered truck with a fuel attendant with static ground cable, fire retardant clothing, full face mask and acid looking grade gloves,,,,,,not to mention he looks scared in the picture approaching the tank
