What I have seen in the past few years with Mack and Penndot Alot of break downs with sensors and things breaking off like wiper arms (stupid stuff) But that meant more time for rental trucks Penndot wanted to put the Calcium Chloride tank between the cab and box,,,someone that drives a desk said, sure you can,,,,,,fail was not tested,,,,,,one or two re-gens the tank melted. International,,, has and will build any configuration a big customer wants It may be temporary to try other vendors until Mack gets things straightened out Waste Management Has been throwing new peterbilts out into service to make Mack wake up

Theile was strong around here,,,,Guys that had them made, always came back for their next truck First time we seen problems with Theile was in 1994 Freinds of mine ordered aluminum dumps again They had a build and delivery date set,, and Theile was 3 months late with the final truck Poor workmanship on just about everything (remember these are long time customers) Many cracks in the welds in the first year The floors wore thin faster then their older bodies Found a few guys from around here in that album ^^Franzosa Trucking Just went up for sale recently The load bearing canopy was common around here,,Was rated for 5 ton ^^N&B Enterprises Sat on the lot for a while and had a Detroit that got passed by little Mack motors he didn't keep it too long

let me sum this up Mack sold me a turbo in 1998,,,I peaked the fuel and timing to match the turbo that was then,,In 2005 volvo wanted less turbos to pick from (less stock) so now the replacement looks like the one on a 350...Just bad judgment to use a smaller exhaust housing on higher flow engines Don't know if your missing something in the post or not,,,, just tried to tell a story about the first time Mack,, because of volvo let me down. This was Mack country around here I grew up with many long time Mack owners that went to Cat and Cummins because of power hunger And yes they are pissed that I can make the same Mack engine they traded in ,,,,pass them Oh yeah on the play and pay quote,,,,,,,your correct,,,,Made few $100 on the side with 475s that think they will not be passed on the hill

I would like to have the turbo built. I like my local Mack and Bosch parts suppliers, since I can get them even on Sunday I would like to get the honed and cut injectors again that I had,,,Got to thank them Dodge Cummins boys for their time tinkering with different tip cuts with laser honing,,,,worked good but the tips ended up cracking,, so super flows went back in Now my pump guy wants to try E9 tips for a different spray angle

Time proven technology ,,,,,,,,,,old Turbo by Mack....Yes Experimenting,,,,,,,,,,that is volvo parts line today (give them this it should work)

Sorry to hear Gregg ....Volvo said that turbo would work (IT WAS MY FAULT IT DOSENT) Now you speak of the same problems I had 5 years ago and your stock with 1.2 million mile That turbo (exhaust side) is too small......way to much back pressure and your high milage valve seals are not going to put up with it. This is a prime example why Mack owners are going to other truck brands.

Not to get off subject,,,,But we are having a conversation on gray Mack engines not red volvo engines,,,,,,,

I try to get my parts from Mack ,,,,,,but now I do a little research before I use what volvo says to use but thanks Thought about Michigan Turbo,,but this one will produce 44psi so it will do for now.

WELL HOLY THREAD RESURECTION THIS STORY IS 5 YEARS OLD Try to make this short,,,,,,,,My first paying job was at Mack when I was 15 years old I ate and drank and with many Mack suits over the years,,this was a friendship and bond that has lasted until they retired(allot retired 9 years ago wounder why). The power increase that are made to mine,,,WHERE DONE WITH MACKS BACKING AND SUPORT In 2005 Volvo discontinued a shit load of turbos...Including the one Mack in 1998, said would be the perfect combo. Their replacement is to small,,Hell Borg Warner told me it wasn't going to work.......this is when,, it was finally beaten into my head that the Mack I grew up with was gone...

I have had good luck with taking another wheel nut,, or whatever nut will fit on top or over the broken stud and welding the inside of nut too the top of the stud.

Mack has built this feature in since day one B model window crank R model heater box CH door molding or the window crank Keep your legs closed when driving

I had one that did the same as you,,,,But mine was a short at the head (that brass rubber terminal that sends power to the rocker) Was shorting and popping the relay going down the road,,,,but never when your at the shop with a test light.
