The Doe Triple D. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doe_Triple-D Concept was started and very popular in UK in the 1950s and 1960s for more horsepower. This tractor above seems to be more of a replication of that concept. Drew

The Massey estate auction was in Dungannon, Ontario and the Massey Expo was in Paisley, Ontario at the Bruce County Heritage Association http://bruceheritage.com/ I agree Ron is a great guy. I didn't get a chance to speak with the other owners of the other trucks at the Expo. Every time I went to look at their trucks nobody was around. I would have enjoyed a conversation with them.

I went pickin' for some old tractor parts last week and this guy has around 9 or 10 old extinguishers. He had them all refinished and clear coated about 5 years ago. They still looked good to me. He said they would all be around the $100 range each (shipping not included) if anyone needs one. Just PM me and I will pass along his information and you can figure it out. I went to Ontario Canada last week for this event. This event feature Massey with over 230 of them plus everything else you could imagine. I tried to grab a picture of as many as I could to meet everyone's tractor brand preference. I am sure I am missing some, like a photo of the farmalls (sorry Superdog). I spent all last week on vacation up in Ontario Canada for a Massey Harris collector estate auction, and then on to a Massey Expo of North America. I ran across a few Mack trucks I thought you would enjoy. I will post some other trucks and farm tractors in other threads. Drew The neighbor at the estate sale had three Macks. This nice 1960 B61. This Superliner with I believe an E9 And a MH with the E9 He was a great guy and he even gave me a ride down the road in his MH to his friend's house with another superliner. I kind of like this photo Then it was up the road for the Massey Expo with 236 Massey farm tractors, another 150 tractors of other makes, a steam engine show, and a antique car show. There was something there for everyone to enjoy. Here are two B61s used to haul some tractors to the show. Nice round tanks on this one. And a pair of older Macks. AB AC This was my favorite. The steam shovel would load the dirt in the AC (and other trucks) then drive around and up the hill, dump the dirt, and a dozer would push it back down in the hole and repeat. And last a gnarly looking Mack for loggin'. Nice rear tires, eh?

This GP just sold in Canada last week for $15,000. Depending on condition they can range from $6,000 to $25,000 or more.

It was actually live during both the tractor parade and the truck parade. I would assume they would air it again, but I don't know. If I hear I will let you know so you can set your DVR.

Thank you everyone for the comments! We are leaving on Tuesday to haul it from Indiana to Paisley Ontario Canada for a World Massey Harris Expo. So it will be starting the show circuit. I just think it would be much cooler being drug around by a Mack truck...

We bought this tractor in July 2011. If the saying goes you can start with a grease stain, we pretty much did that. There were basically no good parts on this tractor. But, it was a rare Kerosene model with special exhaust manifold, and a separate 1 gallon gas tank for starting and then you switch over to Kerosene. Back in the 50's Kerosene was much cheaper than gas. It took two additional donor tractors to put this 22K back together. I hope you enjoy! Drew

Getting inspired. Actually we just finished up a tractor restoration this week. Just put the wheel weights on today. I would be happy to post some pics if interested. Now it is on to Mack truck projects! Thanks for asking.

That thing looks like a pain to back with that short wheelbase.

Hey JT - I have seen that device before. Have you used it? I would be concerned about the 5th wheel tilting during start and stops. Do they recommend blocking the 5th wheel or anything?

They did break the old record of 270. I believe they had around 380 trucks.

This weekend my father and I had the opportunity to drive our (modern) truck around the Indianapolis 500 track. We participated in breaking the Guinness world record for the most pick trucks in a parade organized by RFDTV. http://www.rfdtv.com/ It didn't have to be antique, just a pickup. There were trucks from 31 states represented and over 400 trucks. It was a cool thing to drive around the track, even though there were so many trucks we couldn't get going that fast. They also held a tractor parade the same day so we brought two tractors and did both events. Drew

Indiana state fair is underway this month. There are lots of tractors but only this one very sharp looking B model. I was also there for setup day and I spotted this R model in use to deliver some hot tubs for sales demo purposes.

I grew up with Percherons. They are awesome animals with the best personalities and dispositions. We hitched, paraded, and showed them throughout the midwest. Back in 1996 I was the champion showman for the World Percheron Congress which occurs only every 4 years in the United States. It is still one of my proudest accomplishments. Have fun with them! I would have to agree to Vlad's "pair of cents". You can never go back to original. In my opinion, that is too nice of an original truck and too rare of a truck to modify. Jonas - you seem to find all of the gems out west. I would find a B model cab or something similar and throw it on a modern 2 ton frame with new engine, trans, axles and brakes you want and have a nice old style modern truck. Just one man's opinion.....Drew
