Dont see any brake brackets nor looks like a wear surface....a extra flywheel for mountain driving??? Ps anybody know which parts they fear flying apart in the turbine Mack? Any video of it running?? I'm sad I didn't look the trucks over more to actually study them... Another visit!!! br549 Posted 2 hours ago Share Posted 2 hours ago Bought a new F model single axle 237 5 speed to run from TN to CA in 1975. After about 30,000 miles it quit pulling out in AR, we were told by road side garage the crankshaft was broker. We took another truck and hauled it back. We pulled the transmission and one of the clutch disk had no splines in it, looked like it was machined with a lathe. It came with a big metal round disk on the yoke from the factory. Got in touch with Mack regional manger and he said it was caused by torsional vibration and they sent a vibration damper like on the front of the crankshaft with fluid in it that would replace the steel disk. Ok Cool br549you remember that part number lol I don't see a damper anywhere on the driveline hurting... I'm try to add one on my setups. And refresh all motor dampers as well. Behind the trans seems easily enough I gotta check my connections and yokes Maybe get with fluidamper, get one made or try to make one 😮💨.
